i would also ditch shrugs and opt for better trap builders like say, wide grip upright rows, rack pulls and deadlifts (if you're really set on building your traps (i think direct trap work is unneccessary but that's me)). during pressing movements, sit erect and consciously make an effort to contract your shoulder blades together while keeping your head in a neutral position. i find that failing to keep an arched upper back (by that i mean shoulders blades pinched together) aggravates the neck area. dynamic rotator cuff stretches and neck stretches before you lift may also help. | Tripped while on the treadmill Smashed a few fingers while re-racking weights (mild injuries) A year ago I was turning the corner and walked into one of the arms of the butterfly machine. Forehead ran straight into that !!. I blacked out for a couple seconds and lost my balance. Had a headache for like 3 days straight. No one saw though. | |

| doing seated curls i pinched something in elbow area. now my whole left part of my body feels like i had a stroke. left side of neck is tight, left arm numbs alot, left thigh numbs alot, left testicle hurts on certain movements. my left ear has lost hearing, when i run the scalp behind my ear it hurts like crazy on that side, when im putting lotion on my face, when i get near side of left temple it hurts. i went to the doc to see if i had a pinched nerve but he said no because if i did i would always be in pain. he did xrays and alla that. i still think its a pinched nerve. this was 3 years ago too. | |

| years of heavy weight lifting and probably bad form when I was younger has left me with pain in my shoudler for a few years now, haven't touched a weight since 2009 in pain most days... | |

| when i first started going to the gfym i was gonna do dumbbell incline bench press, i remember putting the barbells on my knees and then lifting the lift dumbbell up first and i just fell off my seat !! was embarrassing as fukk, my balance must have been off but i also know the weight of the dumbbells was too much for me at the time | |

| When I was doing dumbbell rows the weight clipped the bench and I felt it jam into my wrist. !! hurt like 3 weeks. Couldn't make a strong grip for almost a month. | |

| while on the bench press i dropped it on my chest from doing too many reps i just kept going for some reason then i couldnt pick it up anymore cause my arms gave out on me so i just roll it off of me and until it landed on the floor. the weight wasnt anything extreme only about 200 something. I didnt get hurt or anything but should of had a spotter though | |

| Was trying to impress this bad asian chick on the treadmill next to me so I bumped it to almost the highest setting. While running I hit my headphone cord with my hand which knocked my Ipod onto the treadmill which sent it flying into a wall. Asian chick laughed at me and I felt like !! | |
