Freeweights are the best, most effective way to get big. According to many people who use bowflex, it is good for getting you a stronger in a very short period of time but will not give you any serious gains. I know 3 people right now using the bowflex and none looked like they gained much muscle from using it, considering the time the had it for. Why do you think many, if not, all bodybuilders base their routine around free weights? There is no machine that can beat them in terms of muscle gain. Bowflex is also expensive as !!. I think they sell for sumthing like $2000. You can get a good home gym with freeweights for around 300 dollars, maybe cheaper. But like a lot of people in this forum posted, diet it just as important, if not more. Eating incorrectly can put all your hard work training down the drain. When using free weights alone, it is good to perfrom exercises in front of a mirror. That way you can ensure your form isn't bad, which can also put your hard work to waste. Im gonna stop here for now because this post is starting to get too long. If you wanna know anything esle, just post up.

were not talking about "bodybuilding" professional shyt, were just talkin about getting cut, and if youre talking about cost, the main reason why the "bodybuilders" arent using them is because of the cost, they are very expensive, most people would rather pay 15 per month to go to a gym as oppose to 19 per month to own their own gym. I know for a fact that the boflex works. its all we used in the gym when I played football in high school. other then that we did a bunch of cardio shyts to get stronger too, but thats a given with any lifting routine...

bowflex is a waste of $$

i used one back in high school when i first started working out.....i got toned/defined/stronger yet i weighed basically the same, i didnt get the size results i wanted until i started hitting the gym.....not a machine to use if youre trying to build mass (imo)

get a gym pass or buy a set of freeweights for a fraction of the price of bowflex... much better bet..

Never once said the Bowflex doesnt work. I said freeweights and better for gaining muscle mass than any other machine or product out there and thats a fact. Im obviously not talking about bodybuilding cause thats a whole different level altogether. Im just talking about some muscle mass and freeweights will definatly the most effective for this. Yes the bowflex is good for keeping in good overall shape and getting toned but many other machines can also do this for less then half the price. No machine will give you the muscle gains like freeweights can. It gives me a headache to know if you just wanna get tonned and keep in good overall shape, why would you go out and but this $2000 machine when you can get a good home gym with freeweights for $300 or less that can do everything the bowflex can do better.

everyone on the bowflex boat is trippin its been proved & documented that freeweights show significant muscle gains compared to any type of machine or cable training although they certainly do help. Bodybuilders being that they get "swoll" for a living should often know best what to use and point being the person that brought it up earlier is just trying to say none of the builders use bowflex because it probally doesnt work as effectively.
