The SEC rematch in the BCS National Championship Game moved a step closer now that the Coaches Poll for Week 15 is out and the Alabama Crimson Tide are still No. 2 while the Oklahoma St. Cowboys are a close No. 3.

That said, Alabama and Oklahoma State were separated by 166 points. This week, they're separated by only 32.

The LSU Tigers solidified their positioning with a blowout win and Oklahoma State closed the gap with a blowout win over the Oklahoma Sooners. However, voters seemed hesitant to drop Alabama from the No. 2 spot despite their not playing for a conference championship.

Pac-12 schools Stanford and Oregon round out the Top Five.

Alabama is No. 2 behind LSU and ahead of Oklahoma State in the latest[..]ociated Press college football poll.

The Cowboys cut deeply into the Crimson Tide's lead after beating Oklahoma 44-10 to earn the Big 12 title while Alabama was idle.

Last week the Tide received every second-place vote and 1,440 points, while Oklahoma State received 1,259 points.

This week, the Tide received 38 second-place votes and 1,418 points and the Cowboys got 22 second-place votes and 1,400 points.

The final BCS standings will come out later Sunday. The AP poll is not used in the BCS standings. The Harris and coaches' polls are.

LSU is guaranteed to hold the top spot in the standings, but whether Alabama or Oklahoma State will be second is in question.

Nope, USC can go bowls starting next year.
