Dude doesn't rely on getting INTs to be great. He does ALL the little things. Dude knows where to be like no one I've ever seen. There isn't one thing he doesn't do well. Offense gameplan AROUND HIM. Ed Reed is a freak too. But I don't base everything on INTs.

| Ed Reed...Polamalu actually becomes a liability in certain packages...there is no offense strategy where the OC says to himself "boy I hope Ed Reed is out there"...but if you have a good multi wide set...you would rather see Troy out there than almost anyone else... | |

| Im gonna give my honest unbiased opinion here.....Ed Reed I think Troy is an absolute !!ing beast but so is Ed Reed....dude is an interception machine. Was that a couple seasons ago where he came off the PUP list from a broken neck or something and led the league in interceptions while playing only 10 games? thats just straight beastin [pic] and dude has mad interception returns for TDs...he puts points on the board by himself and troy dont really do that alot...and i dont think number of superbowls should be a factor in this discussion | |

| It depends. Tackling = Troy P. ... Ball Hawk = Ed Reed. Health? Neither [pic] Ed Reed is my favorite safety of all time too. | |

| They are both great. The Super bowl rings don't mean much when measuring greatness of a player in football especially when you are talking about one defensive player. because it takes a team to win. Hands down Brian Urlacher, Jr Seau, John Randle, Champ Bailey are all hall of fame players with out SBs You have never heard any one say "Our Safety led us to the SB" And you never will, with that being said I'm going to go with Ed Reed. | |

Polamalu is the Steelers defense.. WITHOUT HIM = no playoffs. WITH HIM = Super Bowls. Ed Reed.... WITHOUT HIM = Super Bowl. WITH HIM = getting bounced in the playoffs. Polamlau is a threat everywhere on the field. Ed Reed is just a glorified ball hawk. Polamalu is a ball hawk too but he dropped a lot of interceptions the last 2 seasons because he's been banged up and Ed Reed has a season on him. The interception margin shouldn't even be that far apart. Not saying Polamalu is as good as Ed Reed in that department but he's not as far as everybody thinks. Sure as hell not enough to discredit everything Polamalu brings to the table and say Ed Reed is better. Plus, Polmalu is on running backs, tight ends, receivers. Ed Reed made his career off of sitting back 20 yards and cutting off long balls. If that's all Polamlau did and I'm glad he doesn't because that doesn't = Super Bowls. He would be 10x better then Ed Reed. Last edited by Yinz N Burgh; 06-22-2012 at 08:47 AM..
