Rampage did get beat but im not too sure it wouldnt have been a different f!ght if Rampage didnt break his ribs so early in the f!ght. I know it was from a shogun strike but you could see him telling his corner he couldnt move or breath as well because of it.

Edit:not to mention they stopped the f!ght on strikes that would not be allowed in the UFC. Such as kicks and knees to the head of a downed opponent. Im not saying that Shogun sucks cuz he is mad nice and porbally the best light heavy in the world right now....but he would also lose some of his best weapons in the UFC.

Also who had liddel with 3 to 1 odds??? Thats not what most MMA watchers had him at...!! most people i know had Rampage with the win....

I don't think it really hurt too much...no matter what its exciting....and the undercards are good too....

He wasn't new to MMA... but he only had, what, 3 or 4 f!ghts in UFC? Dana White markets UFC as the Top "f!ghters" in MMA. So, you understand what i'm sayin'?

Like I keep sayin... UFC, MMA, Pride.... whatever you wanna call the !!... it ain't goin' nowhere without "greatness".

Boxing was dying... then along came Sugar Ray Robinson. Then it was dying again, along came Kid Dynamite.

Basketball was a niche sport.... along came Magic, Bird and Jordan.

Golf wasn't mainstream... along came Tiger.

MLB was WAY down after the lock-out.... along came McGwire & Sosa... Bonds.

No one watched Tennis.... then came Aga#si & Sampras. Then people started watching men's tennis and not women's tennis. Then came Serena and Venus... then people started watching women's tennis.

No one watched VH1 then along comes Flava Flav[pic]

i didnt hear anyone !!ing about pay per view when tyson was knocking niggs out in the first back in the early 90s everybody loved it and when he lost they loved it more because he had comp bring back the quick knockouts and add !! talking to hype it.......its better than mayweather and de la hoya playing cat and mouse for 12 rounds

No one complained about Mike in 80s because he was considered "great". You expected him to go out there and do that !!.

In UFC, they hype these guys to be great... then, they go out there and promptly get their[..]es handed to them. It Rampage is great, then it will help UFC. However, if he goes out there and loses via 1st round KO in his next f!ght... then what does that say about him, and the UFC's hyping of him? What will that say about champs in UFC?

It's strange on how the PPV Event money is coming is that UFC is the highest gross out of the three, following it up is WWE right behind the UFC has the highest, and boxing is dead last which both UFC & WWE are grossing over 250 million while boxing is not even close to that.

its not even worth it to argue with these boxing fans. What they dont realize is most of the MMA fans also like boxing and respect the sport. The problem is that boxing fans are so bias and so quick to defend their sport instead of giving respect to the MMA f!ghters. Its really the last act of a desperate sport to try and get more interest back into boxing. But until they unify the belts and don king gets out of the game...boxing will never return to its previous state....

I mean I appreciate a good boxing match as much as the next guy but its a joke when you have 3 different champs at each weight cla#s

I completely agree that it will take a f!ghter or two with greatness in order for this sport to generate major interest. There is a f!ghter in MMA who many can argue has achieved this greatness. The problem is that he is not very marketable to the American public because he is a flabby looking Russian. His name is Fedor Emelianenko.

What this sport needs is your average American High School Star Athlete to emerge and dominate. The rise of the sport and availability to watch it nationwide has only increased the awareness of MMA. The Ultimate f!ghter and UFC f!ght Night on Spike have beat NBA Playoff games in the ratings. Here in Vegas alone there are MMA Gyms popping up all the time. Randy Couture opened a nice gym here and there are kids signing up every day.

Take a young star athlete in Vegas like Steven Jackson of the St. Louis Rams. Imagine if at a young age he begged his parents to let him train at Couture's gym instead of focusing on football. This is a young sport that really has only been sanctioned properly for less than 10 years. We're not far off from seeing more and more young athletes start too emerge.

Damn nicca, go seek some anger management. Gettin all mad cuz I think it was a premature stoppage.

Anyways, like I've been saying...Chuck was SUPPOSED to win. He underestimated the LENGTH of the right hook.

Alot of !! ups have been happening in sports for a while now. Somebody must be in the future, !!ing up history.

[pic] now this is a great arguement :applause:

but the MMA is relatively new to America alot of the "great' MMA f!ghters dont even speak english I guess that will change since the UFC bought Pride

but its gonna be hard to market these great MMA f!ghters to American since alot of them arent American

UFC(is not a sport its a company) have mostly american f!ghters

ish rampage(from memphis tennesee) only had a UFC f!ght 2wice I think (including the lidel rematch)
