Thunder Hope to Keep James Harden

So the Thunder now have to decide whether Harden is worthy of an extension. When it was apparent that Westbrook would flourish into an All-Star-caliber guard, Presti decided that Jeff Green, the third wheel on the Thunder’s machine in 2010-11, was expendable, and dealt him to the Celtics.

“We’ll be open in saying that there are a lot of inherent challenges this organization faces as a result of the new CBA,” Presti said. “With that said, we also maintained that we’re going to figure out a way to build a team that’s competitive within the new system and capable of [competing for championships]. Nothing changes in that respect.

“We’ll have some tough decisions in terms of being a good team and a team that’s enjoyed some level of flexibility. We need to work with James in hopes of keeping him with the team.

“I don’t want to speak for James or any of our players, but he knows how much we think of him. With any situation like this, it’s a matter of finding balance that works for both of us.”

They can't amnesty Perkins anymore now that Dwight is in the West. So I think Harden is gone, and most likely to the Suns at that.

they can keep em on the team for 2 out of 3 more years on his contract if they really want too. next year wont matter when it comes to the cap

also dwight howard isnt an offensive monster like some of yall make him out to be, his offensive game is on par with bynum and at best a little better than bynum

Bynum is a better offensive player than Dwight overall.

And we both saw the Celtics/Magic series when Perkins was giving Dwight fits and being able to challenge him. Perkins has def lost steps though he isn't !! on offense or defense. But you need someone to take Dwight out of a rhythm and Perkins can do just that.

Dwight isnt an offensive monster are you serious lol? He isnt Shaq, but hes still the highest scoring center in the NBA only Cousins has a chance to score more than him

he had like 2 points per more than bynum and bynum was 2nd or 3rd option at times and dwight was a 1st option [pic]

Kendrick has lost a step but he is still a defensive specialist.

Harden is vastly overrated in my opinion, he was truly lack luster in the playoffs and horrible in the finals.

They should sell high and trade him now before everyone else around the league realizes that his ceiling isn't much higher than where he's at right now, and he has no shot at being anything close to a superstar.

As I've always said.... smaller Joe Johnson. And he's gonna get Joe Johnson paid, too.... and we're all going to look back and laugh at whatever team does it the same way we laugh at the Hawks.

If Harden ain't getting that flop euro step call all the time he's average.

All he has is the corner 3 ball and flopping [pic] to be fair tho he's a pretty good playmaker.

Thunder without Harden ain't !! tho, they have to keep him. But at the same time they can't afford to lose Perkins. Say what you want about D-12 offensively but yall know damn well he's gonna feast on a potential front court of Collison and Ibacka playing along side with Pau [pic]

theres no way a team doesnt offer him the max or close to it youve got a bunch of teams like phoenix charlotte houston to name a few who will be looking to spend next summer
