Terrell Owens to visit with Seahawks

Terrell Owens' one-season NFL exile may not extend to a forced retirement.

The headline-making wideout will try out with the Seattle Seahawks on Monday.

Owens has not been on an NFL roster since playing for the Cincinnati Bengals in 2010. He will be 39 in December, is coming off a torn knee ligament, has an infamous reputation as a divisive locker room presence and was fired by the Allen (Texas) Wranglers of the Indoor Football League this year.

Over the course of 15 seasons, T.O. has been one of the most prolific receivers in NFL history, catching 1,078 pa#ses for 15,934 yards and 153 TDs, the latter two figures ranking second all-time.

But in addition to his often controversial presence, Owens has been in the news recently for his financial difficulties, including failure to pay child support.

The Seahawks signed eighth-year veteran Braylon Edwards last week, adding more competition that Head Coach Pete Carroll so dearly loves at his positional depth charts.

Seattle also brought in WR Antonio Bryant at the start of camp after cutting Mike Williams on July 13; Bryant was released Sunday. Golden Tate, Doug Baldwin, Ben Obomanu and Deon Butler are also battling for snaps opposite oft-injured Sidney Rice. However after acquiring TE Kellen Winslow II earlier in the offseason, Seattle may use more double tight end sets with Zach Miller, potentially reducing their likelihood to keep an extra wideout.
