The stupidity in this post baffles me.

Late first round draft picks like what bk is offering will do nothing but draft you fringe players, specialist, roster fillers.

Bynum is the second best big in the league with #3 very far away. Trading away Dwight a possible bad contract (probably duhon or j rich) will free up cap space for next season. If they can resign bynum they would still have enough for two good players like a monte Ellis and iguadola, or a max contract or close to it like a josh smith.

he's only 24 years old. He could sign a max 4 year deal and opt out in 3 and sign a max 5 yeard deal at 27...he's not missing out on much
With his medical history he isn't stupid. You get your money while you can. I'm not sure where this thought of no one wants to play in Orlando comes from. The reason they couldn't surround Dwight with talent was excuse of horrible money management by the old FO staff. Florida is a no tax state along with Texas, a brand new arena, new coach, and a young GM with a great view.

And even if he left, you would get a !! ton of Cap Space, and wouldn't be stuck paying Lopez a Max deal. Lopez Max Deal. [pic]

No way Bynum would leave all that money on the Table.

Exactly.

This !! isn't as hard as people are making it.

Draft picks are great if you're getting them from a non playoff team. But wtf will you do with 4 picks in the 20's every year.

dude you can flip late draft picks. if they were rebuilding they can package those picks for an earlier selection in the draft.

Who are they gonna trade JRich, Duhon, or Hedo too? Lakers ain't taking those contracts. So they aren't getting draft picks, they aren't getting cap space, and they're getting a big man who might not resign and in your words is possibly injury prone? Even more reason not do to this trade

how long do you think it will take them to build a championship contender? They had Dwight for 8 years and nothing happened....he's not going to want to waste his career being on an irrelevant team that's not competing

You don't get it. Inge era of great big men is over. Why take the chance of training for draft picks that you might be able to flip for better picks just to draft a good big when you can trade for the second best big in the game?

Duhon and j rich come of the books ext year and hedo is owed 12 million but can and will be bought out for 6 million. They magic will then have jameer, big baby, and JJ red!! on payroll along with a bunch of rookie contracts.

because they aren't going to win anytime soon with Bynum...they couldn't even win with Howard. They'll just be in limbo. Not good enough to win a championship and not good enough to get a lottery pick

Let's scale this..

Would you walk away from guaranteed 25k? If you had a history of injuries? 25 MILLION dollars is no small amount to ANY nba player.

Not sure what part about enough money for two max contacts that you don't understand?

No matter what the magic do they wont be contending. Bynum + pieces = loss
Lopez + scrubs and picks = loss especially if that foot doesn't hold up
Any other trade = loss because they will be in rebuilding mode with a horrible cast. Anderson is gone, lack of shooting, organization in disarray the magic will come away with a loss no matter what they do

That does not make indy a title contender

So the thing is.... Heat fans want Dwight to go West because they know the teams with the chances of getting him (The Lakers have no chance) have no realistic shot of making the finals, thus they will never face The Heat. Ideally, Dwight goes to the East where he can actually match up against the Heat sooner and actually give em a ******** challenge so they dont steamroll everyone to the Finals.
