Rockets Acquiring Young Players In Anticipation Of Blockbuster Trade
Jul 29, 2012 10:45 PM EDT

Daryl Morey has positioned the Rockets for a blockbuster move after amnestying Luis Scola and selecting Jeremy Lamb, Royce White and Terrence Jones with the Nos. 12, 16 and 18 picks of last month’s draft.

Beyond Lamb, White and Jones, the Rockets could use a combination of 2011 draft picks Marcus Morris, Donatas Motiejunas and Chandler Parsons in a potential trade for Dwight Howard or Andrew Bynum.

“It’s very similar to what Boston did,” Morey said in reference to the Celtics’ 2008 trade for Kevin Garnett. “Hopefully, it will yield the same result.”

Houston is likely to have at least one lottery pick next summer, and could have another from Toronto as well.

“We’ll be very well set up in a year,” Morey said

Or you know, you could build up all that good young talent and build a solid squad. Then grow one of those players into a superstar of your own [pic]

Sadly a lot of these teams are desperate and impatient.

Morey is an idiot because instead of going into tank mode he tried to push a playoff run for the past 2 season which resulted in late lottery picks.

And I don't know how he can compare this to what boston did because the guys morey want probably don't even want to be in houston. Plus boston had pierce. Houston doesn't have any type of all star on their team to pair with another player that will make them contenders.

But If they want dwight they can have him. He'll walk on them or demand they trade him to bk but they wouldn't be our problem. I say we take all their !!, hand them dwight, and run.

And still try and sign big named FAs in the upcoming offseasons. But this is the NBA where teams stay superstar fishing[pic] so !! it mortgage your future to lose to LA or OKC in the second round.

The Nuggets have more young[..]ets than the Rockets tho

Lawson
Afflalo
Gallinari
Chandler
Faried
Fournier
Hamilton

Brewer

Doesn't mean they're getting a star tho

KG didn't wanna be in boston either until they got ray and pierce was on the outs before that too.

We had a great scorer in pierce, and stole a rondo in the draft, got Jesus, and kg. Dwight isn't signing there. Just build the young talent you already have, and if you must deal for an allstar that's already in a deal like jersey did with williams and groom him into the organization with whatever young guys you got left.

[pic] who would want to go to a team that just tanked a season for the 1 pick and didnt get it, he knew him alone wouldnt get a ring and thats all he wanted

And now he praises boston every chance he gets go figure [pic]

lol yeah, you could have easily just flopped in the lottery and not got oden who was supposed to save your franchise, then flipped the #5 pick for ray allen, who gave you the additional star that made pierce want to stay, and made it attractive to KG after he had blocked a previous trade and badmouthed the city and team lol. jeff green at #5 will fetch you lots of all star talent.

come to think of it, might have been more hilarious if you actually won the lottery and took oden [pic]

walter getting more rings anyway [pic]
