I'm not so sure the refs !!ed up if I look at it from their perspective. The black ref doesn't have a clear view because everybody is in front of him and is shielding the ball which makes me question what the hell is he signaling any damn way. Then the white official has Golden Tate's view of it and by the time he sees what's happening on the ground Tate has his hands on the ball more than he does originally. By rule Jennings must go to the ground and complete the catch for it to be ruled a catch.
While its clear Jennings possesses the ball at its highest point by the time they sort it out he does not and its a live ball all the way to the ground. Plus, its a lot easier for us to make these comments after all the replays. Gruden and Tirico made it even worse on tv with their commentary. Officials are making calls quickly on the field with no replay and its a lot harder for them
