Knicks have emerged as favorites to sign Raymond Felton, the Daily News has learned.

Tony Dutt, agent for Raymond Felton, told The Post yesterday the ex-Knicks point guard would love to be back playing alongside Amar’e Stoudemire.
That scenario became closer to reality now that the Knicks were spurned by Steve Nash. Knicks brass reluctantly traded Felton — who played with the Trail Blazers last season — to the Nuggets in the Carmelo Anthony blockbuster.
“They’ve shown great interest, but there’s stuff they’ve had to get through,’’ Dutt told the Post.
“He loved playing in New York. Our choice was to never have left New York. There were no hard feelings. Management handled it the best they could. I don’t think they ever misled us and I never felt they wanted him in that trade.’’
The Knicks have the $3.09 million taxpayer mid-level exception to offer Felton, though Dutt said he hoped a sign-and-trade can be done with Portland to get an increased salary.
“I consider them definitely on his high list,’’ Dutt said. “He would love to go back. He loved New York and was playing at an all-star level.’’

People don't wanna say it, but he and Amare were product's of the system, and the spacing. Amare had all the space we neede in the post, now Tyson and Melo takes up his spots. Felton is not gonna flourish again unless he just REALLY hated portland and played bad on purpose.

Why did we not draft Machado!!!! damn what the !!? Bibby or Douglas can't be our second option yo.

i get what your saying and i !!s with Lin.

i just rather bring Lin off the bench because he CAN get wreckless with the TO's

!! if Felton can produce like he did he is more than enough as the starting PG

he never a missed a game as a knick and averaged 17pts and 9[..]ists

Does he need to work on the turnovers? Of course, but hes a basically a rookie and just coming into his own. Yall want the kid to be perfect. he is one of the best YOUNG pgs in the lg.
im not downing Lin like I said before. I believe in the kid but ALL im saying is when he learns to control the ball better, he will be a promising PG.

basically rookie PG in a ball dominant system, going from no playing time to 40+ minutes a game? with basically no other definite scoring options? the turnovers wouldn't even be a problem if he wasn't chickd by the media.

I compared the possibilities of a S&T for Steve Nash to that of a Peyton Manning-Tim Tebow reference with us keeping Tebow as well. With this Felton situation, I'm going to compare it to that of a Mark Sanchez-Tim Tebow situation...one in which may be doomed before it even begins. And this is coming from someone who was a fan of Felton's tenure as a Knick.

Signing Pablo Prigioni is a must in my eyes now. We need a vet point who can actually play the pick n roll for 12 minutes a night.

Machado is alright. Pure point-great vision yada yada yada. His knock is obviously size, strength and athleticism. All reasons he went undrafted. He'll latch on somebody's roster, but he is not a good fit for the Knicks roster at all. We should really just forget the name...and I don't care if he is the next Lin story.

Fact remains...we have many ego's on this squad. One of the main reasons we saw Nash as the game-changer he could be was because he commands respect...something Lin is having a tough time with. We don't need to be young at the position. We need to get older, wiser and more experienced.

Pablo is a 35yr old vet who has been in the euroleagues...look him up.

I will look him up, but Lin isn't the issue. Even without Dantoni he proved he has enough offense to be a viable option, for the 7 game winning streak he was our #1 option, and he est@blished Novak and Chandler into our offense. due to the injury and Melo's ineffectiveness until late March, him and Lin never really got to work together at full strength, neither did Lin and Amare. I believe with Lin playing out the rest of the season we at least win that extra game needed to finish 6th, if not more.

Lin as the second (or third, being the only point that could est@blish Amare) option would have greatly increased our chances of success. Lin was working to improve his defense and Woodson found a way to get the entire team in line defensively the last 24 games

You don't have to explain to me Lin's successes, we've all seen it. What you need to realize is what his weaknesses are...and I'm not just talking about his game on the court, but the mental aspect of it as well. It doesn't matter if his teammates LIKE him, they need to RESPECT him. Lin's personality type is one that he wants everyone to like him. The kid doesn't lack in confidence, but the insecurities are most definitely there.

You're right about the ego's, but the concept isn't right and it's hurting the team. !! ego's, !! salaries, it's about playoff runs. with the roster we had (healthy) we have at LEAST a conference finals team. If they can't understand what they have in front of them, they don't deserve to win.
