I agree with him if the emphasis is to keep guys alive when they are done playing and well into their 60s and 70s. My issue is with idiots who think you can prevent most of the post playing events from happening. Once again, these guys that end up playing in the NFL and for a long time will have played football for at least the last 25 years of their life. That means for at least 25 years they have run into or been run into at full speed that long which leads to what I call occupational hazards.

If you work around radioactive materials long enough you should expect effects from it, if you work in a dust blowing factory for twenty-thirty years you should expect some side effects from that, if you work in a field that is very loud for a long time you can expect to retire with severe hearing loss. So why is it that people expect guys who hit and get hit for a minimum of twenty years to come away from it scott free and able to lead a full healthy life?
