second trade of the today, nothing big though

The Cleveland Cavaliers have agreed to trade shooting guard Jiri Welsch to the Milwaukee Bucks for a 2006 second-round pick, NBA front office sources said.

It's the fifth time Welsch has been dealt in a three-year career since being drafted No. 16 overall by Philadelphia in 2002.

The move means Cleveland will have cleared nearly $7 million in additional salary-cap space for this summer's spending over the past two weeks.

New Cavaliers general manager Danny Ferry said Monday upon taking the job that he hopes the club will re-sign center Zydrunas Ilgauskas. The Cavs, though, are also expected to use their $20-plus million of expected salary-cap space to make a serious run at Bucks free-agent guard Michael Redd.

Milwaukee, though, remains confident it will re-sign Redd no matter how much cap room Cleveland has, in part because of the extra year's salary it can offer the former All-Star.

Free agents re-signing with their own teams can receive six-year deals. Free agents who move to another team can only sign a five-year contract.[..]uming both teams offer Redd a maximum contract, the difference would be roughly $20 million.

^Is it THAT hard to believe that Bogut could actually turn into a star or something? Give the guy a chance.
