yeaaah mayne im glad connolly is fitting in that was a hit or miss situation for sure. were only a few games in with him but he looks like he can keep up with kessel so thats all i really ask. last night was ridiculous, we should have had 7 goals but we decided to pass the puck off on 4 different 2 on 1's and every time it got intercepted. just get a !!ing shot off. good win though.

I was pretty surprised with what Joe said too, he's 1 of the more stand up guys in the League

After having several hours to digest what transpired Monday night, New York Rangers coach John Tortorella is none too pleased with San Jose Sharks center Joe Thornton.

Moments after the Rangers ended the Sharks' five-game winning streak -- all on the road -- with a 5-2 victory at Madison Square Garden, Thornton labeled the Blueshirts as, "probably the softest team we played on the trip. We should have had these two points."

When informed of Thornton's comments after the game, Tortorella was brief.

"Joe said that? Wonderful," was the Rangers coach's response.

But on Tuesday, Tortorella elaborated on what he thought of Thornton's comments.

"It surprised me, and I've never heard a player say that," Tortorella told reporters after practice. "Joe's a heck of a player, but here's a player popping off about our team, and Joe hasn't won a (darn) thing in this League. Thornton, 32, has 1,010 points (309 goals, 701[..]ists) in 1,005 NHL games. He is 18-64-82 in 109 Stanley Cup Playoff games, but has never participated in a Stanley Cup Final. The Sharks have reached the Western Conference Finals the past two years but have gone 1-8 in those series losses to Chicago and Vancouver, respectively.
