Obama Sends Shot @ Jeremy Lin

It seemed like every Knicks fan was behind Jeremy Lin last season during his rise from anonymity to NBA icon.

But that wasn't the case. There was a large segment of the Knicks faithful who never believed in Lin.

And that group often pointed to one game -- Lin's eight-turnover performance against the Miami Heat, in which he shot 1-for-11 -- to prove its point. That loss to Miami was Lin's worst outing of the season, by far.

President Barack Obama reportedly used Lin's toughest moment as a metaphor for the 2012 race for the Oval Office between Mitt Romney and himself.

“We’re the Miami Heat, and he’s Jeremy Lin,” Obama said, according to an aide quoted in a story in the New York Times about Obama's competitiveness.

It's a bit surprising because Obama, a Harvard man himself, had been a huge supporter of Lin.

It's also surprising because Lin was an underdog who rose to prominence under difficult circumstances. And Obama seemingly mirrored that path in the political world.

Knicks fans hated that nicca. I think they only gave him some rope because they needed something to rally around. But once he was gone, they turned on Lin quick as hell.
