lol yall really believe that a major television network would purposefully risk a firestorm of controversy (and possible litigation if a disgruntled intern ever decided to release private memos)?

For what? so some programming director can sit back and say "haha! take that you dirty monkeys"

[pic]

the only color that matters is green. Racism is corporate taboo because its bad PR and bad PR means advertisers cut funding, shareholders suffer and people get fired. No white person is gonna risk their job, advertising $$ and a media !!storm just so they can have a little inside monkey joke...lmao I cant believe yall seriously believe this !!

yall writing essays about this !! but I bet you've never written this much about the state of school funding or city infrastructure in black neighbourhoods or any other REAL issue relating to social inequality or race [pic]

You guys do know NBC doesn't pick what ads are played when, the time slots are bought by the media buyers for the company running the ad right? The first spot and the last spot in a commercial batch are always sought after the most by companies because of the invention of the pvr.

You're sitting here acting like this happened 15min after she won.. When she won the gold more than a hour before the commercial aired.

White folks will make all sorts of excuses for !!ery..[pic]
So had any other athlete won they could've kept the commercial but you think they should've moved it solely because she won? Which one of these scenarios sounds racist to you?
a)slotting a commercial about a show and airing it during primetime after an event that the show relates to
b)slotting a commercial about a show and airing it during primetime after an event that the show relates to, but changing the order at the last min cause a black girl won

Y'all trippin. Wanting special treatment bout non issues. OP and the rest of you only ones who compared her to a monkey. That's the first thing that should come to the mind of a racist watching that. You need to get ur !! together not nbc, in this instance.

That's not helping NBC's case. The commercial was for an NBC show though [pic].

I don't play a game of what ifs, I go by what actually happened and the fact that they inserted that commercial purposely after the segment of the African American Athlete. As I said this is being watched by the world, they are not stupid they control what we see, and they send message subliminally all the time. Whether its for racist !! like this, or to produce fear to the American citizens to purchase goods.

The commercial itself IS NOT THE ISSUE. It being IMMEDIATELY aired DIRECTLY after discussing a black athlete is the insulting thing in this scenerio.. If the commercial ran 2 or 3 commercials after the break.. FINE. But don't go from talking about a Black athlete and immediately cut to a monkey doing the same sport. I will not condone that foolishnes and pretend this !! wasn't purposely done.

You wouldn't know because you've never had to deal with racism throughout your life. Or deal with injustices or treating unfairly because of your skin color. This bull!! always happens and yet white people all the time say "oh no big deal, just let it blow over".. When !! like this continues to happen..Nobody wants special !!in treatment. Just be mindful of the message your sending when families all over from many different races ae watching..

Why is it that the black community always has to be the one to put up with bull!! and be told to turn the other cheek?

Is this not America? Is this not one of the most racist !!in countries in the history of exsistence? Do they not run a judicial system that is set up to incarcerate african americans? And you think a MAJOR net work like this didn't do this purposely? !! outta here, this !! WAS done on purpose. It will continue to be done because white folks will always make that "aww black people just complaining".. If !! like this didn't happen we'd have nothing to complain about. As if WE like being subliminally being insulted so we can have something to complain about.

I think this is bad timing but you do know these are tape delayed events that NBC put in primetime right? Everybody knew who already won when watching this on NBC. [pic]
