I'm The Dan said:
He said, "in this situation" you homos. He's not saying that he should have started passing more in the past. He's saying with a team like they have now, then maybe he should take on more of a facilitator role. I agree with him. It'll keep him more fresh as well if he's not looking to score every play. It keeps the other guys on the team happy as well.
Two ways to interpret "in this situation." Personally, I think he was talking about
: 1) Playing against the Jazz and, 2) Never was down in points.
The Jazz never took the lead at ANY POINT in the game. I imagine if they took a lead, we would've saw way more than 10 shots from Kobe. I think that's what he meant by "in this situation."
However, with that being said, I think if Kobe continued to play with a pass first mentality like last night, then the Lakers could be a better and scary team. We saw how easy he got his buckets last night after the Jazz started playing more defense on other guys. And is it just me, or did DHoward actually set some SOLID screens for once. So many other games where I would see Howard half a.ss a screen and start rolling to the basket - which didn't even end up picking the defender off.
I just hope we see some consistency after last night's game. They were almost up by 20 at one point.
