| Kolb listed as AZ Cardinals STARTER. |
| By blazerock - 07-30-2012, 07:10 PM - Boxden > BX SportsCenter http://espn.go.com/nfl/trainingcamp1...qb-depth-chart i am NOT pleased. This dude is complete CHEEKS. FROM ESPN.COM _______ Kevin Kolb has been listed as the Arizona Cardinals' No. 1 quarterback on the team's initial depth chart. The Herd with Colin Cowherd Arizona Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt says QB Kevin Kolb and QB John Skelton have both made improvements in the offseason. Whisenhunt also breaks down the schedule. More Podcasts » Kolb, set to enter his second season with the Cardinals, is listed ahead of John Skelton on the depth chart, which was released Monday. Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt has not indicated whether Kolb or Skelton has the edge in the competition for Arizona's starting quarterback job, stating that he will make his decision over the course of training camp. "The most important criteria is what they do on the field and how the team responds to them," Whisenhunt said Monday during an interview on ESPN Radio's "The Herd." "I think ultimately the player that's more consistent, that shows he can give you the best chance to win, that's the one you have to go with." Whisenhunt said both quarterbacks have "made progress through the spring," but Kolb apparently will start Arizona's preseason opener Sunday in the Hall of Fame game against the New Orleans Saints. "We've got the Hall of Fame game coming up in a week," Whisenhunt said. "I think this will be a good opportunity in a live situation to put them in and see how they compete." NFC West Blog ESPN.com's Mike Sando writes about all things NFC West in his division blog. • Network: NFL Nation Kolb was 2-6 as a starter last year, missing much of the season with turf toe and later a concussion. Skelton was 6-2 in his absence, but much of the credit for that success goes to the team's vastly improved defense. The Cardinals thought they had acquired their franchise quarterback when they sent cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and a draft pick to Philadelphia for Kolb, then signed him to a five-year, $63 million contract -- with $21 million guaranteed. But with no offseason because of the lockout, Kolb struggled to absorb the Cardinals' offense, then was sidelined with injury. Skelton replaced him, and though his passing often was erratic, he had a knack for bringing the team from behind in the fourth quarter. |

| I think he won it by default though. They said Skelton has a better handle of the offense thus far and th at Kolb would probably be named the starter based off his contract. | |
