I love how his reasoning for not taking the fight with Chael is basically "he didn't deserve it"...YOU don't make that decision you !!, the matchmakers do....you are the champ you fight WHOEVER they put in front of you...I wish he had a solid reason for not taking the event and it being cancelled but dude sounds like a little diva....sad..

In honesty he's right....too much in the ufc guys get title fights and shouldn't based on their name....I used to give the ufc credit because the best always fought the best and judging was fair...two things where boxing was lacking but past few years I can't say that

Chael doesn't even deserve a main event let alone a title shot against Jones...he prob really dislikes the guy for how disrespectful he is And doesn't want to give him any kind of shine or payday

[pic] his reasoning was that he didn't have time to prepare and that he wasn't going to fight dude without anytime to prepare, CONTENDERS have to fight whoever is put in front of them not CHAMPIONS.

they, like chael, are reliving the 20 mins he held silva down and using that as qualification

he's lost two of his last 4 fights and was just embarrassed by silva and basically was like a dog with his tail between his legs after the fight

that is not deserving of a title shot...after that he would need to string along 2-3 wins with one being against a top contender in order to "deserve" a shot

The part that I meant had to be hate was to say that Chael doesn't deserve to be main eventing. This is a guy who lost to NO ONE save the greatest fighter in UFC history in the past 3-4 years. He crushed the competition at MW and even won a short notice fight against the only other guy who could be considered the true contender for the belt. He's very aggressive with his wrestling and has shown that he has added finishes to the mix since the first loss to Anderson... He is fan friendly and knows how to sell a fight... basically, he's a marketable, world class fighter... for you to say he shouldn't be main eventing, you're clueless or you hate the guy, I'll let you decide for yourself.

Not true at all... really this makes no sense... history has shown that title contenders can take different paths to the belt... once you have the belt, you have to be ready to fight anyone

Okay... so... one more time for anyone who isn't part of the dozen or so BXSC posters who actually follows the sport and knows what's going on:

WE KNOW CHAEL ISN'T THE #1 CONTENDER. He had the opportunity because all the other top contenders turned down the fight. It has very little to do with what he earned in the octagon and everything to do with having the right name and the right attitude at the right time. This is literally the 12,854,810th time this has been explained.

I mean, what has Vitor done to earn a shot at LHW? What has Frank Edgar done to earn a title shot at FW? No one asks because they aren't nearly as despised as Chael, but they got their shots the same way. It isn't perfect but it's the way the UFC has to do business sometimes.

I'll also point out again that I've been a diehard Spider fan for a long time, you bandwagoners and morons blindly hating Sonnen have turned me into a fan of his [pic]
