Jacksonville Jaguars Sleeper team this year? |

| By Got Cheeve? - 08-17-2012, 10:55 PM - Boxden > BX SportsCenter This team looks way better than most thought they would. Gabbert looks like a completely different QB. The coaching change has invigorated his career it seems, and it doesn't hurt having Justin Blackmon out there making plays for him. The defense was 6th in the league last year, they went 5-11 with the worst offense in the NFL, with four or five of those losses at the end of the game in which they had the ball with a chance to win. ![]() This team is a sleeper this year. They may not be the 49ers of last year, but they will surprise many teams, and compete with the Texans for the division. They're no joke. What's even more impressive is tonight's performance against New Orleans, was again without MJD, without both starting tackles to protect Gabbert, without both starting corner backs, starting DE, starting OLBs... yet they still styled on New Orleans, a Super Bowl contender. Yes, it's preseason, the teams are playing vanilla offense and defense, but that's both teams, so it's not one team calling vanilla and the other game planning, it's all on the players to out execute their opponent, and Jacksonville out executed the Saints. This team is a sleep this year, watch out. P.S. CHAD HENNE SUCKS. Jesus Christ. He looks completely out of sync. At least he can fight though: ![]() ![]() ![]() |

| Saints always let a weak team wreak havoc atleast once a year.....this might have been that one time. I mean you have to believe they are familar with what Jax was going to be doing offensively do to them being very familar with what Mularkey did in Atlanta. However this is them with out MJD.....with him and some plays through the air they might do damage. | |

It's definitely too early, but the Jags got pinned as garbage because of the "everything that can go wrong, goes wrong" season last year. No other team faced that situation. Think about it. Starting QB cut before the regular season (due to Del Rio being the !! he was.) McCown, the eternal backup, plays like !! the first two games forcing the 21 year old rookie into starting. Youngest QB in NFL history. Most injuries in the league. Led the entire league with 25+ (was like 27-29) players on IR. More than half the team's roster. Scrubs at WR. Coach fired mid-season, coaches he hired, on 1 year lame duck contracts. The entire year was sabotaged from the beginning. Don't forget this team was 8-5, leading the division the year before. That is until Peyton Manning was Peyton Manning and took the division at the end. This team isn't devoid of talent, they're actually quite deep. What I'm saying is the perception is completely wrong about this team. Are they going to win the Super Bowl? No. Are they a team that has potential to be a good team and can make the playoffs? Yes. Too many people have this team painted as a scrub team, and even more have them pegged as having the first pick in next year's draft, and to me that's insane. | ||

| They'll be better than many (including myself) thought they would be. Offense looked pretty damn good to be honest. | |

| well the one thing I know is the system is a succesful system.....the big problem with Mularkey though is that he doesnt make good adjustments. Jags might have a better Oline then Atlanta which would be a big plus for the Jags if that is the case. | |

| I doubt another playoff team is coming out of the AFC South other than Houston, Jags are not taking the division from them. [pic] | |
