| By Saintaholic - 07-30-2012, 03:12 PM - Boxden > BX SportsCenter Posted by Darin Gantt on July 30, 2012, 4:26 PM EDT The Giants don’t sound particularly optimistic, after cornerback Terrell Thomas re-injured his right knee and was sent off for tests this morning. Thomas missed last year with a torn ACL, and after getting tangled up with wide receiver Dominik Hixon Sunday, Thomas came in today with swelling and was sent to the Hospital for Special Surgery (which is a really ominous-sounding name for a hospital, by the way). When coach Tom Coughlin was asked if there was any news on Thomas, he replied, “Unfortunately, there is, . . .,” according to Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News. The Giants are expected to announce more this afternoon, but it doesn’t take much reading between the lines to anticipate it’s not good. Last year’s ACL tear was his second, with the first in his college days at Southern Cal. Despite that history, the Giants signed him to a four-year, $28 million deal in March, though the likelihood of him seeing that amount is slim. It included a $1 million signing bonus and $1 million in base salary, and that might be all he sees. There’s a $6 million option bonus next March, but unless the news is unexpectedly good, that doesn’t seem like anything he’ll ever earn. For the Giants, that puts more pressure on former first-rounder Prince Amukamara. Since Aaron Ross left for Jacksonville in free agency, the Giants are extremely thin there. | We'll see, I'm not one to react until further details come out. You've should have seen some fans when it was reported Jayron Hosley was carted off. People thought it was a knee injury (reported) or an ankle (reported also) when it just ended up being a cut on his leg that needed a few stitches. | |

| I'm so sick of this !!, EVERY YEAR my g-men are k!llED during the pre-season. They never enter the season at 100%. General coughlin has to ease up the practice/work-out intensity, make the players play at less than 100%!! And my giants gotta have the WORST medical staff in the league, why aren't these players warn about possible injuries beforehand? Why are these players taking years to get healed?? i.e. Hixon [pic] | |

| Truly a shame...especially after coming off that amazing '10 season. As much as I hate the team, I never want to see amend injured, especially someone so talented | |

1. Giants are not the only team that suffers injuries 2. They haven't even practiced in full pads yet 3. Are you really that stupid to think players aren't made aware of potential re-injuring a repaired knee? Cut all that worst medical staff non sense, again Giants aren't the only team with players getting injured and re-injured. Last edited by Stupendamatic; 07-30-2012 at 04:49 PM.. | ||
