ESPN: RG3 is Developing Faster than Luck

RG3 developing faster than Andrew Luck - NFC East Blog - ESPN

"That Griffin is getting rid of the ball more quickly than Luck is."

"That Griffin bears less of the responsibility for the sacks he's taking than Luck does for his".

"That, while Luck throws the ball downfield more, Griffin does so more efficiently. (Fifty-seven percent completions on throws 10 or more yards downfield, compared with 49 percent for Luck.)"

"The stats show Luck takes longer to get rid of the ball than Griffin and throws the ball down the field a lot more than Griffin. This suggests Luck is pressing too much and not recognizing when to check down as quickly as Griffin is. Griffin, in part, is doing a better job of quickly recognizing when he has a good opportunity to go deep and when he needs to get rid of the ball. This gives Griffin the current edge as both players strive to fulfill the promise of the draft slots."

Luck will be good, but I always thought RG3 will be the better QB. But then again it's just their rookie years alot can change during the upcoming years so lets see.

You even read the article? There are stats that back this up. Not to mention the fact that Griffin took one of the worst offenses in the NFL, and made it the offense that has the most TD's in the league this season.

this write up is so full of !! [pic] discrediting luck for throwing downfield while praising griffin for playing Brady ball [pic]

luck has turned it over too much though for sure, griffin has a better completion percentage because he doesn't have the gunslinger mentality, he throws nearly all short routes, only 9 passes over 20 yards [pic]

He's running this because noone can stop it with his 4.3 speed.

When he has dropped back under center, he has been more efficient and thrown for more yards per throw than Luck.

NOT running the spread offense with RG3 would be like buying a Ferrari and driving it in a school zone.

get my thoughts together, or just put the "t" next to the "i" to make the word "it"?

You can't say Griffin only throws short passes.

RG3 Yards per completion: 8.3

Luck Yards per completion: 6.7 [pic] If anything, Luck is the king of dump offs. 6.7 is THE LOWEST in the NFL.

stats skewed by yac, I even stuck up for rg early, but the proof is in the stats, 9 passes that carried 20 yards in the air to 30 from luck

not to mention luck has thrown 70 more passes in one less game

and dude u posted yards per attempt [pic]

the real numbers per completion are...

RG3 11.1
Luck 12.6
