It is called “King of the Rings”. It is the first ever ESPN Marvel comic book. It stars LeBron James. That amazing cover art is by Adi Granov.

What happens inside? That has not been revealed. Stay tuned to this station, we will break the news as soon as it hits. For now, you can enjoy the Miami Heat drawn by Mike Deodato Jr. from the ESPN Magazine Marvel Covers 2010. Check back soon, check back often. These are very exciting times.

Feudal means land. The one who owns the land holds the power. The kings gave up their lands to lords in exchange for military protection and thus lost their power and became figureheads.

The social structure of the Middle Ages was organized round the system of Feudalism. Feudalism in practice meant that the country was not governed by the king but by individual lords, or barons, who administered their own estates, dispensed their own justice, minted their own money, levied taxes and tolls, and demanded military service from va#sals. Usually the lords could field greater armies than the king. In theory the king was the chief feudal lord, but in reality the individual lords were supreme in their own territory. Many kings were little more than figurehead rulers.
