Drew Brees named to Pro Bowl roster due to RGIII injury

With the injury to Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III requiring surgery on Wednesday, New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees has been named to the Pro Bowl roster in his place.

According to Nakia Hogan of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, Brees was added to the roster as the first alternate following Griffin’s injury. It will be Brees’ seventh trip to the Pro Bowl. Brees threw for 5,177 yards, 43 touchdowns and a league-high 19 interceptions.

Brees in the third member of the Saints to be named to the team along with guard Jahri Evans and punter THomas Morstead.

The young boy had the least amount ints in the league as a rookie. Most long yardage tds, highest qb completion pct and no.2 in qbrating...stop the hate

lol rg3 wasn't relied on nearly as much as brees...

all brees on offense, and the worst defense in league HISTORY>

It really is a popularity contest, though. !!in Jeff Saturday made it, and he has been quite average this year. Pro Bowl will never be much more than a joke, so I'm not sure why people still put stock into it.

This...43 TDs 5200 yards and 19 picks is down season and not PB worthy [pic] Imagine next year with SP back and at least a middle of the pack D or just around 20th ranked they were the worst ever no where to go but up.

come on man, ya'll hatin now....RG3 deserved it!...he had a great year...like the stats ol buddy put out, he had the 2nd best QBR etc...least turnovers behind Brady...rushed over 800yrds...come on man, how u gon not say the offense didn't rely on RG3, that option was everything, the threat of RG3 is what made Morris special!...and for the dummy that said he missed all those games, he actualy only missed the Cleveland game....he didn't finish the Falcons game (left in 3rd Q) he didn't finish Ravens and Seahawks (left in 4th Q)
