Photoshop hot keys stop working?

Ever since I upgraded my Mac OS my hot keys in Photoshop and other programs stop working sometimes.

Like I'll add a layer style, or use a filter and the hot keys will stop working. Then I'll close out, and re open Photoshop and they'll work....until I use a layer style or filter again.

It won't even let me close out Photoshop by using Command + Q. I can't click on Photoshop and Quit from the top left corner, the Quit option is grayed out. And I can't quit from the dock icon either. I can only do a force quit.

Anyone know how to fix this?

If it's CS6, then it's not a Mac OS issue. You're probably clicking on other programs and when you want to go back to Photoshop, you're clicking on your canvas/design instead of the PS dock icon. It's a stupid CS6 bug.

When your hotkeys stop working, click on any app/icon/desktop outside of Photoshop, then click on the PS dock icon. No need to restart every time.

It was CS4 ...and no that wasn't the issue. It got !!ed up after I upgraded my OS. It was happening with other programs too.

But I got CS5 and it works fine now so whatever.

Oh, in that case try reseting preferences/keyboard shortcuts if you decide to go back to CS4.
