| I'm no PS guru and idk how everyone else does it, but here's how I do it. 1. Open PS and Ctrl-O to open image you wanna cut the head out of. 2. Select the magnetic lasso tool. [pic] 3. Use it to outline the head by clicking around it to create anchor points. The magnetic lasso makes it easy by kinda snapping to whatever you're outlining. [pic] [pic] 4. Right click and hit refine edge. [pic] 5. Play around with the settings until you get it how you want it. Press ok. [pic] 6. Press Ctrl-C, Ctrl-N, Ctrl-V. Right click the layer on the side and click blending options. [pic] 7. Click drop shadow and get the settings how you want em. [pic] 8. Click the layer visibility button for the background layer. [pic] 9. You may want to adjust the size of the smiley. Press Alt-Ctrl-I to make it smaller. 10. Press Ctrl-S, hit the format drop down box and save as PNG. Choose Interlaced. Sometimes if you're lucky, there's a lot of contrast between the background the face (like a white backdrop for example), you can get away with a couple of clicks with the magic wand tool. Alternatively, you can try a program like But I doubt it'll work on low resolution images like most smileys. | ||
