Teen hospitalized after four-day Call of Duty marathon

An Ohio teenage boy was hospitalized this week after a four-day Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 marathon led to "severe dehydration," reports local NBC affiliate WCMH-TV. According to the boy's mother, the Columbus teen only emerged from his room to grab snacks and to take a short shower.

Dr. Mike Patrick does not recommend gaming for extended periods of time.
The boy collapsed multiple times after playing Modern Warfare 3 for "at least four days", and was admitted to a nearby hospital, where doctors placed an IV to replenish his lost fluids. He is expected to be just fine, but his mother has taken away his Xbox 360.

Activision had not returned requests for comment as of press time.

Emergency physician at Nationwide Children's Hospital Dr. Mike Patrick told the news outlet that gamers should exercise common sense. He recommends drinking plenty of fluids, taking breaks for physical activity, and getting sleep.

nice parenting. My kid plays alot but also maintains a healthy social life, gets good grades and is an all around decent kid (for a 13 yr old punk[..] motha!!a). Show some interest in your kids for christ sakes

the terrible parenting skills were evident as soon as they bought that kid such a wack game. how they dont notice that the only time that he comes out of his room was to eat is incredible.

Kid is fuccked up for staying in the house that long, if they take his Xbox/PS3/PC privileges away from him when he gets out then he go on a Batman massacre spree... Might aswell leave him and let COD take his life
