Story line for SSX: Deadly Descents revelaed + pics

The EA.com official page for SSX: Deadly Descents went live sometime last night, shedding a little more light on the return of the snowboarding series and dropping another three screenshots.

According to the site's official writeup, SSX: Deadly Descents tells the story of a team seeking " to be the first to descend the faces of the most treacherous mountain ranges on the planet." The globetrotting snowboard supercrossers will be shredding down the Himalayas, Patagonia, the Alps and ice ranges of Antarctica. Players will be battling both the mountain and a rival team seeking the same claim as yours.

"In SSX: Deadly Descents the first goal is to survive. The second, in true SSX fashion, is to look good doing it."

Here are the three screenshots. Note that your helicopter is named Elise, probably a nod to veteran character Elise Riggs, one of only four snowboarders to appear in all five SSX titles to date. Given that this is a completely different SSX, it may be that neither she nor any of the past characters appear in Deadly Descents, but no one can know for sure right now.

Does not sound too appealing. I just want races and tricks in 1080p. I don't think that's too much too ask.

I agree 1000000000% all I want is to do some 720's and some McFlips at high speeds off a photorealistic mountain...really it cant be that hard...

I have a feeling they're gonna change way too much about this game. Ssx3 was perfect. Had it for ps2 and xbox
