Not sure why Sony would wait almost 5 months to talk about it...unless it did happen and they would feel !!ing stupid after last year when it went down for three weeks...
Sony is combating claims from hacking group Anonymous which earlier said they had breached Playstation Network. Anonymous posted that claim on their Twitter account early today but then eventually removed it. Although the claim was removed it originally said that as many as 10 million accounts were hacked and a link to a database with “email addresses and passwords” was provided. The linked database was hosted on PasteBin but is reported to hold account information from a leak in March.
Sony didn’t immediately respond to the claims but they have now issued a statement refuting all of the breach reports. ”We’ve confirmed that the recent claim that PlayStation Network was illegally hacked and that customer passwords and email addresses were accessed is completely false,” reads the statement.
