Sony asks "Why are you hacking your PSP?"

Do you use homebrew? If so, do you feel like a rebel? Does it impress your friends? Or do you do it just to see if you can "get away with it"? These are questions Sony recently posed in a survey it sent to various PSP owners. It asks in a very straightforward manner why people hack their PSP systems.

Earlier, we reported some distressing figures on the state of PSP piracy, and we're hoping that Sony attempts to correct the problem in some way. We're[..]uming the results of this survey will influence some key decisions in the future regarding system security.

LOL @ its my PSP I can do what I want...

WHATEVAH!

but I hacked mines for theses reasons:

1) FREE GAMES
2) Emulators for all the classics(SNES, NES, GBC, N64, and GENESIS)
3) Homebrew(not a major reason, but there are some hb apps that are pretty cool)
4) WHATEVAH, its my hot PSP, Ill do whut I waunt!

I didn't hack !!.

Original Japanese 1.50...from release date in Japan...next week in UK ..not had to downgrade !!...copy few things to my memory stick, and a game...i'm done for whenever

one of the big reasons i want a psp is to get the emulators and play the old school games like dude above said.i guess i need to cop before they make some major changes to em.i dont even know what else u would wanna hack it for

Other than the piracy of games, Sony should be thanking and employing authors from the homebrew scene. Damn Nazi company..........

I hacked mine when the Lumines downgrader came out...I !!ed it up last week lol...i think it's bricked or whatever...

I wasn't going to hack mine until my PSP stopped playing games and I've only had it since Christmas , but since I don't have a receipt I don't have a warranty. So I said !! it I mind as well.

Hacking it is very much worth it, even if you don't play downloaded PSP games. Hacking it allows you to turn your PSP into the ultimate handheld system. Play Nes,Snes,Sega Master System, Game Gear, Game Boy, Game Boy Advance, Sega Genesis, Mame, Coleco,etc games on it. That alone is worth hacking it.
