Orbis contains eight Jaguar cores at 1.6 Ghz, arranged as two “clusters”
Each cluster contains 4 cores and a shared 2MB L2 cache

SSE up to SSE4, as well as Advanced Vector Extensions (AVX)
One hardware thread per core
Decodes, executes and retires at up to two intructions/cycle
Out of order execution
Per-core dedicated L1-I and L1-D cache (32Kb each)
Two pipes per core yield 12,8 GFlops performance
102.4 GFlops for system

GPU is based on AMD’s “R10XX” (Southern Islands) architecture

Liverpool is an enhanced version of the architecture

Looks nice, yeah. Many would say it's a more powerful, sensible design than Durango. Unlike the PS3, it doesn't seem to contain anything that's either crazy expensive (Blu-ray drive when PS3 was new) or exotic and hard to work with. (Cell, XDR DRAM to an extent)

I bet you thought this thread would be popular, didn't you?

According to that website, the Orbis is faster than the Durango without anything that will confuse the !! out of devs. Still looks to be more expensive, but at least not $100-$200 more.

I mean instead of 2 sku's with 100 dollar difference in price $300/$400, just make one in the middle for $350. Everybody gets the same console with all the features.
