The PlayStation 4 Comes with A Headset

Strangely omitted from Sony's PlayStation 4 conference was how voice chat would be handled this time around. A common problem for users playing online with the PlayStation 3 was the lack of voice interaction between players. This was due to the console not coming bundled with a headset like the Xbox 360. While the PS3 does support any Bluetooth handset, some gamers might have been reluctant to purchase a peripheral they might not need.

Well, it seems that Sony's taken it upon themselves to fix this problem. In a specs sheet from Sony Computer Entertainment, Sony announced that the PlayStation 4 will indeed come bundled with a Mono Headset that can be plugged into the stereo headset jack located on the DualShock 4. This is great news that gamers will hopefully take advantage of once the PlayStation 4 sees its release this holiday season.

Will it still support Bluetooth headsets? Wireless Turtle Beach's?

No need for a separate thread. In short, I'm interested. They got me with the Gaikai thing, but the games kinda lost me. I'll pre-order for sure just because, but they need to show off more. I'm more excited about E3 now than ever.

they confirmed cross game chat.....i think the khack homo guy said it briefly and you can't pre order, theres no price point or release date(in theory you can) but probably be around summer time for sure for pre orders)

ehhhh the streaming thing wasn't clear....they said hopefully one day we can stream PS1, PS2, PS3 games....i mean im sure they can but it would have been better to hear "oh nicca for sure, we got you on the streaming tip, sit back and enjoy this show my nicca" lol

if they are smart, they would include a cheap little headset with the console and improve the !!ty quality they have right now. voice chat is definitely something the xbox does a lot better than the ps3

i figured they'd do something where u can plug in any headphone into that jack and the mic would be built into the controller itself

You know Gamestop will have a bull!! pre order scheme to get money, they can make thousands by having some drop 500 as a preoder.

It will be a cheap earpiece headset. Throw away.
