yes it is if your talking top end. Look at the 5000 series from a couple years ago and now the 7000 series....Look at the performance difference. By not !! i mean that you are no longer in the top end bracket after 2 years. You have been surpa#sed and possibly almost doubled....

lmaooooo. That's not a high end gaming PC. I'm sorry. That's a high end email and web browser. You paid so much for it because that technology was new. You paid for the technology not the specs.

If your talking about overkill then yeah.....there are people still using 200 series Nvidia cards and getting good frames and good graphics....If you want a large e-peen then by all means go out and buy a 690 or 7990 and sli or crossfire them if you want...the fact is this....maxing out a game is changing...things like fxaa and Smaa are phasing out the need for AA which crushes cards at a rate of return thats not worth it.....I have a card that can max out AA in Battlefield...but I use FXAA because its looks clearer to ME and doesn't tax my card.....when they improve that technology more and more, cards will last longer and longer....I don't plan on getting a new card for a good while and when I do, I will just SLI what I have for half the original price.....so its all relative, alot of pc gamers get high end crds just to say they have them....I just want something that will allow good framerate, great graphics at 50-60fps at 1080p.....and I am set for at least the next 3 years with my setup...and even when its time to upgrade, my system still won't be outdated....Its all about HOW you build YOUR computer....

eh, it only costs alot when you're one of those enthusiast guys who run everything completely max no matter if there's a noticeable difference or not with a 2560x1600 screen or something. I've got a x4 955 and a HD 5770 I got on ebay for 80 bucks and I can pretty much play everything that isn't Crysis or Metro at 30 and up at 1080p[pic]

Okay it might be "top of the line" in 2 years but guess what you can STILL play games at high settings! My GPU will last awhile until I decide to upgrade to something newer.

Too much money yadda yadda. How much did you drop on your 360, PS3, Wii? But thats okay I guess. That is one reason why I wrote that Ill Ones post was comical when he said that I "have to upgrade and spend $100-400 after 8 years" (basically saying PC costs so much) yet he'll be dropping $300+ for a new console.

Driver updates don't come out as often as you're making it out to be. The last NVIDIA driver for the 500 series came out in May. On top of that it's only a few clicks and it's done same with Graphic options. I haven't had to adjust any controls for the games I've played. Pretty much all games nowadays share the same controls any way. Now with that being said after you're done with that it'll be good every time you play.

uggghhh [pic] your acting like you gotta go to each indivual website to download the drivers, game updates ect when the fact the is the games and nvidivia/ati driver has a auto update feature and lets you know when there are new updates available without having to search the internet your self so try again. and hey guess what just like console they will update itself (auto-update) if you set the option to do it lol.
