What is your proof?

For the record, "newly-formed" company does not mean !! in business. As a big corporation I could whip together a dummy corporation and call it a new corporation for the sole reason of trying to mask myself. Not saying it's Msoft, but where's your proof that it absolutely isn't? What's your source? As someone who is very close to the industry and hasn't heard either way, I'm dying to know.

Are you kidding me? Games on Demand. Xbox Live Arcade (which is up long before Sony and Nintendo even had their current gen consoles out). Indie games. Etc. And this isn't even digital downloads, technically. It's streaming games. Sony wasn't focused on streaming games before they bought Gaikai, but they bought Gaikai. You talk out of your[..] like you know !! but you don't know anything. Go sit in the corner and cry.

Games on Demand is a poorly-run service that gets little-to-no attention. Look at what nintendo and sony are doing, then compare it to Games on Demand. Sony and Nintendo are dropping titles day-one, and if not that, then very close to their release date. Ghost Recon dropped a few weeks after retail, Ma#s Effect 3 was available day one, and even pre-download, same with Sorcery. Nintendo is also pushing digital with the 3DS now, they have The New Super Mario Bros 2 coming up (or maybe it's ok? idk). Then we have the Vita for Sony again which already has EVERY ONE OF IT's GAMES available day-one for download.

And it's not the fact that they're streaming or download. It's the fact that they haven't shown any initiative in this general area. They'd rather churn out applications for the common user, not something like this to the gamer.

Digital downloads is digital downloads. Did you say anything about day one drops? Regardless, you don't know for a fact that Msoft wouldn't do something like this. Stop pretending like you know their every move.

What makes you think MS would buy OnLive?

I never said Microsoft would. That's the difference. You're[..]erting that it's not Msoft as if you know it to be a fact. I'm simply refuting your stance by saying it wouldn't be farfetched to see them doing that.

But I'll play your little game. Microsoft would buy them to compete with Sony and Gaikai. It's as simple as that. Not only do they get the same technology (yes, it is the same. Gaikai did nothing different from OnLive, except they couldn't market their name and couldn't get people interested to get more partnerships), they get the innovators in the space (they've been doing it a lot longer than Gaikai), and they get a way to get into the "handheld" space by being able to offer games on smartphones and tablets without even having to make new hardware.

Again, I'm not saying they did acquire OnLive, but it's not farfetched to believe they could. There are many reasons Microsoft could purchase them.

I'm not playing some game...Anyway, yes they would get all of that, but who's to say they'll actually go through with it? What have they done in the recent months to further themselves gaming wise against sony, nintendo, or any other competitors? It's mostly been pushing applications. I do appreciate those applications greatly though, but i'd rather see them take a stand in the gaming front. If they bought onlive and went in with the cloud gaming idea, i'd be happy, that just means more of us get to enjoy our games, but I honestly cannot see it happening.
