The highly anticipated title features a new hero, Ezio Auditore da Firenze, a young Italian noble, and a new era, the Renaissance. Assassin's Creed II retains the core gameplay experience that made the first opus a resounding success and features new experiences that will surprise and challenge players. Assassin's Creed II is an epic story of family, vengeance and conspiracy set in the pristine, yet brutal, backdrop of a Renaissance Italy. Ezio befriends Leonardo da Vinci, takes on Florence's most powerful families and ventures throughout the canals of Venice where he learns to become a master assassin. Key Features * Ezio, a new assassin for a new era Ezio Auditore da Firenze is a young Italian noble who will learn the ways of the assassins after his family was betrayed and he looks to seek vengeance. He is a lady's man, a free soul with panache yet has a very human side to his personality. Through him, you become a master assassin. * Renaissance Italy Italy in the 15th century was less a country and more a collection of city-states where families with political and economic strength began to take leadership roles in cities like Florence and Venice. This journey through some of the most beautiful cities in the world takes place in a time in history where culture and art were born alongside some of the most auspicious stories of corruption, greed and murder. * A new-found freedom You will be able to perform missions when you want and how you want in this open-ended world that brings back free-running and adds elements such as swimming and even flying to the adventure. The variety in gameplay adds another layer for you to truly play through the game any way you choose. * Dynamic crowds Discover a living, breathing world where every character is an opportunity for the player. Blending in with the crowd is easier, working with in-game characters provide ample rewards but can also lead to surprising consequences. * Become a Master Assassin Perfect your skills to become a master assassin where you brandish new weapons, learn to disarm enemies then use their weapons against them and assassinate enemies using both hidden blades. | GIVE PROPS QUICK MSG a d ![]() $17,237 | Rep: POWERFUL | Easter Eggs Abound? ![]() Ubisoft Confirm Metal Gear / Assassin's Creed 2 Potential At the GameON: Finance conference in Toronto, GamingUnion.net had the opportunity to speak with Ubisoft Montreal CEO, Yannis Mallat. Mallat's studio is behind the development of the Assassin's Creed series, and many may remember the Assassin's Creed bonus in Metal Gear Solid 4, Snake adorning Altair's outfit. Speaking with Mallat, we asked if Kojima Productions will have any easter eggs in upcoming Ubisoft games. Here's how it went: GamingUnion.net: In Metal Gear Solid 4 you could unlock Altair's (from Assassin's Creed) outfit, is there any vice versa involvement, or tip-of-the-hat to Kojima Productions in Assassin's Creed 2 or Splinter Cell or anything like that? Mallat: [Laughs] We're working with Hideo on a casual basis, and this is the kind of thing we love to do. When there is something vice versa I'm sure you guys will know first. GamingUnion.net: Has it been talked about? Mallat: We talk about a lot of things with Hideo, he's a great fan of Ubisoft and Ubisoft Montreal, as we are for his work. The relationship is really awesome with Hideo. There you have it folks. Subtle, but Mallat confirmed that they are working with Hideo in some manner. Perhaps Snake will make his way onto the Xbox 360 after all, or Raiden will pop up in Splinter Cell. http://www.gamingunion.net/news/ubis...tial--621.html |

| GIVE PROPS QUICK MSG a d ![]() $17,237 | Rep: POWERFUL | This one doesn't have that issue at all, people's complains were targeted by Ubi, so do not go into this one expecting the same game again in terms of structure, the core remains the same yet expanded in many levels but the structure of the game now is way beyond AC. Watch, that was their main goal since day 1 of AC2's development and they achieved it.

I know its MW2 time hype week, but I figured for those interested I would get the official thread treatment out the way and get them informed about the game. btw I don't know about all that zero hype comment... Assassin's Creed 2 Pre-Orders Stronger Than Original Title Gamasutra - News - Analyst: Assassin's Creed 2 Pre-Orders Stronger Than Original Title Ubisoft has a near-guaranteed winner in Assassin's Creed II if current estimates are to be believed -- the game's preorder count is up 10 to 20 percent from those of its 2007 predecessor, according to a note from Janco Partners. Ubisoft Montreal's original Assassin's Creed far exceeded the publisher's expectations, going on to sell over 8 million units after originally being projected for just 3 million. It sold more than 2.5 million units in its first month alone. Janco analyst Mike Hickey said the sequel is part of "a strong stable of owned and internally developed franchises," and has a positive long-term view of the French publisher, despite the company's recent downward revision of its fiscal 2010 outlook. Though Ubisoft may be slightly down for the overall fiscal year, which ends in March 2010, Hickey sees games like Assassin's Creed II driving a slight year-over-year increase in revenue during its third fiscal quarter. Other significant contributors are likely to be Rabbids Go Home, Shaun White Snowboarding 2, James Cameron’s Avatar, and Academy of Champions. And looking into next year, the firm expects United States video game industry sales to grow by more than 10 percent year over year in calendar 2010, following 2009's lackluster performance, with Ubisoft outperforming the rest of the market based on strong individual titles and unit sales. Even further on, Hickey sees Ubisoft putting more emphasis on the MMO space, as it relates to both core gaming as well as the social and casual spheres. | GIVE PROPS QUICK MSG a d ![]() $17,237 | Rep: POWERFUL | Few reviews are in OXM UK - 9/10: Quote: The first Assassin's Creed's charm was in the sumptuous graphics and straightforward action - that incredible climbing and free-running, and the visceral thrill of stapling evil people to the dirt with a wristblade. With AC2 the rest of the game has caught up with the brilliance of those central ideas to create a complete and coherent experience. We can think of plenty of words that could describe Assassin's Creed 2 - involving, exciting, cinematic - but there's only one word that sums it up beautifully. Killer.
