No[..]assin's Creed 2 to be shown at all this year

Laurent Detoc, the president of Ubisoft North America, has confirmed we won't be seeing a new[..]assin's Creed game this year. But if we were going to, we would have already seen it by now.

"When we bring it back, there will be more anticipation for it," Detoc said an interview with Forbes.

Assassin's Creed received some positive reviews, but wasn't perfect. Our own Andy Robinson (currently in a Mexican jail) said that "questionable stealth elements and repetition prevent[..]assin's from achieving greatness." He gave it 8.7.

Despite this, Detoc is happy with the overall outcome. "We just did 'Assassin's and are sitting on top of the world," he said, "but we have to come back to reality very quickly because you're only as good as your last product." So slightly broken but otherwise enjoyable, then?

He also addressed why we haven't seen a new Prince of Persia game in three years. Apparently the two sequels didn't do as well as the first game, so Ubisoft decided to pull back production and create a demand for it. Treat 'em mean, keep 'em keen and all that...

We always thought that the aesthetic changes made to Warrior Within were because was Sands of Time underperformed. Now it seems that those changes were all in vain, which makes the whole thing even sadder.

for me that game is like getting some !! from a fat[..] Hispanic chick. it's like, yea the idea of getting some is good at first, but once you're deep inside you realize you've made a terrible mistake. at which point you just gotta pull out and call it the biggest waste of time ever. :(

Lmmfao never been in the situation but it happened to my boy the other day lmao

The ending of AC had me mad at the world for like 2 days. Did all that work for the game to just end randomly.

^exactly the same. i didn't have the urge to beat it at all. the story was lame, the repetitive tasks were lame, the game was visually amazing and the presentation was spot on, but the gameplay lacked so much that it couldn't keep me interested at all. ugh @ the repetition. every time i'd try to turn it on and tell myself to beat at least one boss to get an achievement, i stopped 5 minutes in. i just couldn't do it. i had to sell that !!.

Yeah I got rid of it too. I was almost done the game but I was doing the same thing in every city. !! just got boring. Traded it in and got MGS4.

I would have k!lled for persistent aggro guards. That bull!! run away meter made it too easy. A very excellent idea ... they just need to put their heads down into immersing you into that world just a bit more. earning weapons was relatively futile since by default the game can be beat with no weapons at all ... it just made it terribly easy to become more unstoppable. Eventually, the joys of bullying the ai wears off, and you are left with the big WTF.

So what do I do next? Why isn't there a multiplayer version? Something like capture the flag with a scroll instead .... smaller city model, weapons to pick up or fight from guards (yes ... there are guards. lots.) and players could attack each other. Who would make it back to their base first? I'ld love to play that.

That's why they need all the time to sit on their[..] and think about this one. But if they come out with doo-doo ... they will get hate-mail till kingdom come.

Yeah, I didnt like the ending either, I pretty much figured out how it would end after I k!lled the second "boss". And like most people said, it got so repetitive that I just gave up on the game. I still hold out hope for AC2.
