New Walking Dead FPS requires you to use your sesnes as stealth. Due out in 2013

Angel Gonzalez who is in charge of making people design the game in his "creative vision" is the creative director of Activision’s FPS version of The Walking Dead Video Game. He explains just how the upcoming shooter will make the user have to use both sound and smell in its game.

The basic plot of the game casts you as lead character Daryl Dixon, he is the caucasian with the crossbow. In an interview he said, that when watching the show for reference points to use in the game, one of the things that really stood out to the dev's was how the Walkers used and reacted to various senses, in particular interest where those of the sound and smel varietyl. The Walkers move toward the sounds people make because obviously that's where the people will be. So someone moving through the game world needs to be aware of the amount and type of noise they make at all times, so as not to alert the walkers.

Obviously one of the worst things you could do in the Walking Dead world is to fire a gun. He also stated that they are creating the Walkers to react the same way. “In the game, you’ll need to carefully sneak into and out of some dangerous situations. If you show up with guns blazing, you’ll quickly that you might easily become overwhelmed.”

Onto the "smelling" part now. Gonzales stated that “Humans give off a scent that the Walkers can detect, and the longer we stand still (like when we are looking at a shelf for supplies) the larger the radius of that scent becomes. Stand still for too long and a Walker shambling down the street looking for a meal might just discover you standing inside a store.”

these are very cool ideas that should have been implemented in past Zombie games, but there's always time to implement them (ie copy) into future Zombgie games, because as we all know "imitaiton is the sincerest form of flattery"

In closing out Gonzales said that the goal in creating these Walkers was to make them as living (or, actually, as undead) as they are shown on TV. They see you, smell you, and hear you, and they won’t stop until they find you.

He decided to put his own spin on a thread title yesterday. The title was incredibly misleading and he took hours to change it.
