New character revealed for Mortal Kombat (PS 3 Exclusive)

Ed Boon the creator of The Mortal Kombat franchise has mentioned that there will be having an exclusive character on at least one of the consoles when the game comes out in early 2011.

Well thanks to the January issue of the Official Playstation Magazine, (which I got in the mail today) we've learned just who that character is.

When Mortal Kombat drops next year in March, Playstation 3 owners will be able to use as an exclusive character none other than Kratos himself from the God of War series. Not only will Kratos be featured in the game, he'll have his own fatalities, combat moves, and his very own God of War themed combat arena.

Hmm a f!ghting game...i'd guess someone from Gears (Marcus or Cole) or possibly Master Chief not that he's a good choice...but who does 360 have as exclusive for a f!ghting person?

News just broke that the Playstation 3 version of Mortal Kombat 9 will contain a playable guest character. Kratos, from God of War, will be ripping heads off alongside the typical MK warriors. The report mentions that he will not have any single player story mode content, but will be fully functioning in VS mode.

Official Playstation Magazine has the scoop in its January issue. Do you guys think the Xbox 360 version will get any exclusive f!ghters to match?

Yeah i was going to post that...but I'm still unsure if it was characters meant for the console version just leaked on a mobile site...or if it was characters for an iPhone version of the game...

360's character should be Thane from ME: 2 or some !!. [pic]

Master Chief or the Gears characters don't fit MK at ALL.

Well don't forget this is the January issue which is supposed to be out after the VGA's...but I ALWAYS get my magazines a week before anyone else...

and yeah the only reason I mentioned Master Chief and gears is because I can't think of a 360 game that is exclusive that really has any "f!ghters" in it... Kratos is a great fit, but who 360 exclusive could they use...ME 2 is on PS 3 now so it's not exclusive anymore... so really who do they have?

They honestly don't have anyone that would fit in MK.

Also, even if the magazine wasn't slated to come out till next week it still means the character was being revealed regardless of how their marketing campaign turned out.

I thought of him immediately, as well. He'd be a pretty good fit. Not exclusive, though.

I mean the gears guys sort of fit...

you can have the lancer gun with the chainsaw which could lead to some dope fatalities...the lancer can fire projectiles so they can have some range like everyone else on MK... just don't make the gun too overpowered ...and you got the flamethrower gun and stuff like that...then you can have them throw the grenades they got onto a wall and throw the character on top of the grenades for some damage, the cole train curb stomp could be a dope x ray move...I mean story wise they wouldn't fit in...but moves wise it would work...

and yeah while he's not exclusive Ezio or even Altair would be a good fit as well

The main character from either Fable 2 or 3 would be a good fit, I think. But the franchise isn't popular enough.
