NBA 2K13 hints at Derrick Rose, Kevin Durant, Blake Griffin sharing cover duties

		2K Sports is currently encouraging fans through their Facebook page to tweet the hashtag #UncoverNBA2K to help reveal who will be the cover athlete for NBA 2K13. For every tweet with that hashtag, a small piece of a giant image is revealed and once enough tweets have been sent out the image will give us a clear picture as to who will be gracing the game's cover. As if Michael Jordan selling millions of copies for the franchise the past two years was not enough. As of this post, the image on the game's Facebook page is still hard to make out, but some resourceful Internet sleuths have managed to grab the final image. It does not reveal who the actual cover athlete is; instead, the image features a few obvious clues - a griffin, a tarantula and a bed of roses - as to who will be the game's cover athletes. Much like NBA 2K12 had Michael Jordan, Larry Bird and Magic Johnson featured in three separate covers, it looks like Blake Griffin, Derrick Rose and Kevin Durant will be taking over that role for 2K13. If all of this plays out as expected, this will be first time each athlete will be gracing the cover of a packaged retail product for 2K Sports. Derrick Rose was the digital cover athlete for NBA 2K10 Draft Combine while Griffin and Durant have each graced the cover of a sadly tragic EA Sports title, NCAA Basketball '10 (the final college basketball title from EA Sports) and NBA Elite '11 (the infamous game that was pulled from store shelves at the very last second). There is still one piece of this puzzle that remains a mystery. Along with the three clues, there is the ominous image of the Brooklyn Bridge in the background. Considering that the Brooklyn Nets are set to debut next season, could part-owner Jay-Z be a part of the festivities? Of course, NBA diehard fans will note that Michael Jordan was born in Brooklyn, so could this be hinting at something even deeper than just a reveal of Jordan gracing the cover once again. They should broaden the 'Jordan Challenge' for more players, current and old. Players like Kobe, Lebron, Bird, Jordan, and Magic. That'd be hot.
