Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition Sells 3 Million

Mojang has announced that more than three million people purchased Minecraft on Xbox Live Arcade. The figure comes via Minecraft creator Markus ‘Notch’ Persson on Twitter, where he confirmed the news earlier today.

Minecraft got off to a good start, selling more than one million copies in its first week. Considering Minecraft is available on Xbox Live for 1600 Microsoft Points ($20), the Xbox 360 version of the game has accounted for $60 million in sales so far.

According to stats on Minecraft’s official site, nearly 6.7 million people have purchased Minecraft on PC. Considering the Xbox sales and previous news that more than 700,000 people have purchased Minecraft on iPhone and Android, the franchise has sold more than 10 million units across all platforms.

Deserved every penny. The new update with pistons/sticky pistons adds a whole new level of possibilities to the game. Once we get creative mode and NPC villages this game will be un!!witable.

Yeah friends of mine told me some of the !! they've seen with those, like regenerating castles, working televisions (like 1 FPS or something, but it'll cycle through a pattern), etc. etc.

Because I've played the game already [pic] Didn't really enjoy it. Has a lot of potential and I recognize that it's a good game. But like I've already said, it's just not my thing. Similar to how I don't enjoy the LittleBigPlanet series [pic] It's mostly the "play,create,share" aspect that I have no interest in.
