Microsoft to offer Xbox Live Rewards "based on" Achievements

"We've hit 50,000 followers, which means it's time for an announcement!" the XBR official Twitter account posted yesterday. "Coming Fall: a new way to earn Rewards based on your Achievements!"

"More details are forthcoming," it added, following the inevitable flood of queries. "Stay tuned! Thanks for your interest!"

Let's all hope it's retroactive, eh?

Sony should do the same, but I've always understood by they don't offer rewards for these things. People always find a way to cheat the system.

They actually were testing a rewards system that was supposed to come out last march, but the psn went down and I suppose they never felt like bringing the system back up.

[pic]I was thinking the exact same !! when I read the thread title. M$ is greedy as !! they already charge gamers for something that should be free whatever they plan on giving gamers for this trust me it wont be anything worthwhile. But it still is better than nothing

I see it being something like every week some random achievements give you something for them. MS points, avater items, wallpaper, etc. And you have to log in and confirm that you've unlocked that achievement. I don't see every achievement being worth something because the game companies wouldn't get anything out of the deal. But that would be good if it did. So when those DLCs come out the achievements I picked up can buy me the DLC and I can save my money.

I'm down with any free !! for my achievements, but if ain't retroactive then !! it. I don't play games near as much as I used to black in the days.
