Microsoft Backs Out of TGS and Gamescom

Microsoft will not show their 360 lineup at Gamescom, and they're not exhibiting at TGS either.
That's another big blow to Gamescom after Nintendo decided not to attend and Sony was late to confirm their participation.

Not surprising. niccas got no traction in the Japanese gaming market, and they usually don't do Gamescom seriously. Gamescom is usually Sony's playground and TGS is Nintendo's.

Forza and Gears and XBL arcade, and maybe they can hype up cross game chat and invites...that will really get the Gamescon attendees on board, Japanese love them some Cross game chat

japan was a necessary piece early in the 360's life because people still cared about what the east had to offer and M$ really wanted to show that Xbox was the gaming brand for everyone but now the tables turned, the other shoe finally fell and Japan is almost a non factor If I were M$ I would waste very little energy trying to impress a bunch of gamer's that'll likely go with Sony or Nintendo anyway just because they are the home team......

M$ still need gamerscon and Europe though....

They have no reason to go to TGS, that's a given.

Pretty sure the major reason for GamesCom is Motorola has the Xbox currently banned in Germany unless I'm mistaken.

No point of going to Japan with Halo, Forza and XBLA when nobody gave a !! there the past _ years in a row.
