[pic] The roster update for Madden NFL 13 following week five of the regular season is scheduled to go out for both the Xbox 360 and PS3 by Saturday morning. This update will apply to any Play Now or Online games. A new roster to use when starting up Connected Careers went live yesterday.
Players getting bumped in the update include Robert Quinn who gains 4 points, Bruce Irvin picks up 2, Reggie Wayne goes up 2, J.J. Watt is up to 94, Marques Colston to 92, Logan Mankins to 97, and Alex Smith to 88. Taking a hit are Chris Johnson losing 1 (still rated an outrageous 86) while Cam Newton, Matt Ca#sel, and Bobby Ma#sie all too fall by 1. Michael Vick’s fumble issues have also led to a drop in his carry rating. There seems to be a distinct hesitation to drop players at the same rate they can rise.
No changes to player “Traits” this week. Brian Cushing, Bernard Scott, and Ryan Williams hit the IR while Danny Amendola and Cedric Benson are lowered on the depth chart due to their injuries. The news on Ryan Kalil came in too late to be reflected.
Teams benefiting the most from this week’s update include the 49ers and Rams (+13), Vikings (+8), Seahawks, Bears, and Falcons (+7). On the downslide are the Bills (-13), Eagles (-9), Panthers and Jaguars (-6). This is easily the most balanced update this year in terms of net players gaining vs losing. The total is +37 but it’s the NFC West which is responsible for +31 that skews the number. It’s only +6 spread across the other 28 teams.
