Journey transcended gaming. Journey is currently on sale on PSN. $11 for PSN members, $7.50 for PS+ members.

The most overrated game I've ever played in my entire life. Amazing visuals, music and co-op mechanics, but it has zero other redeeming value to me.

Curious as to why you knocked gameplay for Walking Dead, Jesszman, but think this is the best game ever when it's literally walking through the desert 80% of the time?

I'm just trying to see what is so critically acclaimed about this game. I'm really struggling.

It provided an experience that no other game this year could match. The way it emphasized co-op without really emphasizing it was amazing. You didn't feel tethered by anybody you met, but at the same time, you wanted to stick together. When you lost sight of eachother, all you'd hear were chirps. It'd be like losing Clementine, you'd look for her to the ends of the earth. You were protecting eachother, guiding eachother on this journey up the mountain. Lose your partner? Sure, you'll gain another, but losing somebody who's been with you throughout the whole game isn't something that's easily replaceable. You're not going to have the same bond with this other person.

Those feelings and experiences are what made Journey such a fun game for me. Never has a video game really tapped into my emotions like Journey did.

The Walking Dead would.

As I said, Journey lacks mightily in any gameplay. The puzzles were lame, the flying aspects were cool briefly, but only really amazed me during the final sequence.

I wasn't emotionally attached to the game at all. I need character development to feel involved in a character. Not a 2 hour stroll through the desert. I understand the co-op was brilliant, I thought that was cool as !!, but it would've been waaaaay better if they had you doing puzzles that actually took thought and cooperation. I ended up running into a co-op partner that was nearly done with the area, totally cheating me out on doing it on my own. They could've handled quite a few things better.

You'd have more enjoyment by getting your balls waxed.
