Harada: PS3, 360 & Wii should merge to create one console

Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada thinks that Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo should merge their console wares and create one unified platform. Harada believes that one console would fuel innovation in the industry moving forward.

“For a long time, the game industry has been able to control the way people play games.There was a platform that people used solely for their gaming needs, and the industry had control of the trends and such that occurred,” Harada told News.com Australia.

He added, “people are able to not be tied down by consoles. I think it would be interesting if Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo got together just to make one console. It makes me very happy to think about all the possibilities that could occur because of that.”

One console for everyone? Really? We’re not so sure!?

I been said this. All the innovation in hardware has been done. All the innovation is OS and peripherals. Valve wants to do a standardized set of specs and let OEMs sell their own boxes that use a Linux based Steam OS. Would allow for more cheaper and readily available hardware for consumers. Devs would have a standard set to work with, no fragmentation in developing for multiple consoles, reach all of the audience without leaving an audience behind, wouldn't have to worry about strict and hampering regulations like M$ & Sony put out. I see no reason this wouldn't benefit customers or who wouldn't be behind it besides Sony, M$, and Ninty cuz they would lose their stranglehold on the industry.
