Grand Theft Auto 5 coming to Wii U in 2013

Grand Theft Auto 5 will be coming to Wii U, according to publisher Rockstar.. According to a new financial report from developer/publisher Rockstar, the company will release Grand Theft Auto 5 in early 2013, and it will be coming to the Wii U in addition to other consoles. GTA V was announced last year, but no release date was given. Considering that Rockstar usually takes their time with games, and rarely announces release date until they’re absolutely certain, it’s easy to see Grand Theft Auto 5 be released about a year from now. But the biggest surprise is that it now appears we’ll be seeing GTA V on the Nintendo Wii U as well, and hopefully with some new and innovative ways of using the new Wii U controller.

Whatever you think of Take-Two or its boss, the company's principles are clear and they don't deviate from them. Titles like Max Payne and BioShock and Spec Ops: The Line get delayed because the publisher won't put out anything before it's truly ready. And it'll walk from high profile licenses like Major League Baseball because it sees no value in doing second-rate games.

So when Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick notes that the company has no plans to move any of its mature titles over to the Wii U, that's a significant appraisal of the system's perceived appeal. "I'm skeptical," he told Gamasutra in an interview notable for an executive's candid commitment to artistic quality.

But not skeptical of new hardware in general. Zelnick noted that a new console generation helps "separate the winners from the losers," and Take-Two plans to be a winner. He's also not keen on milking cash cow franchises every year until they're depleted. "We're not trying to create something good and market the hell out of it," he said. "We're trying to delight customers with something great — and market hell out of it."

It might actually be watered up this time because the Wii U will be ahead of the other 2 but if it sucks like GTA 4 it wont matter

I'm not doubting the possibility of it. I just doubt the fact this poorly written article is accurate. This would be BIG news if it were true.

I don't see why it won't come out for Wii U, Nintendo said their main emphasis was on third party developers for their next console. They even talked about it at E3.

It will NOT come out on PC though I think. Also, worldwide release May 2013...

...And it sold way less than expected (And prompted Rockstar to port it to PSP), which justifies his skepticism.

DS is the only system you could ever truly play chinatown wars on. The PSP version is just not as good.
