Is FFVII really that good?

I've only played 3 7 and 8. 7 just had a really cool group of characters. That's about it for me. I wouldn't say it's overrated. I understand the hype.

honestly i had more fun playin VIII, and think that VIII is a better game...the level on that space ship where u have to beat all those monster "twins" that have the same color>>>


intense gaming right there...and this is coming from someone who absolutely hates 90% of RPG's

you'll get the occasional contrarian or attention chick bashing it, but aside from that, it's universally considered to be a great game. when it first came out, my brother played it and i used to watch it and really liked the game but never played myself. when i got a little older, i wanted to go back and play it so i copped an old ps1 and the game and really got into it. i've had a couple phases since then where i went back and beat it and did everything in it over again.

the graphics didn't age well, but i don't think they're an abomination. they were very good for the time.

i haven't gotten into other FFs as much. i played 6 for a couple of days and had no desire to continue. the tiny little sprites and the story and everything just wasn't really pulling me in. i saw a friend play 8 for a while and it seemed OK. i beat 12 and it wasn't bad, but not great either. 13 was kind of a letdown. i started 13-2 and never finished it because it wasn't really engaging and i had no desire to see it through. i also dropped the ball after playing 10 for a while, but i may go back to that at some point.

in my experience, nothing trumps 7 [pic].

if you play it and get really into the story, there's also dirge of cerberus for PS2, crisis core for PSP, a movie called advent children, and there was a cell phone game called before crisis (not sure how to go about acquiring this actually) that all expand on the story.

I think you kinda had to be there when it came out -- it won't live up to the hype if you play it now because it's 15 years after the fact. Then again I never prayed to God, I prayed to Sephiroth.

i couldn't beat the game because i !!ed up early in the game and didnt realize it until i reached the last boss...The only way i could win was to go look for that Cactus GF in the desert and get it up to level 100 or something outrageously time consuming because he was supposed to have some kind of Gohan-esque hidden power or some !!...i wasn't bout that life [pic]

That's why I wander around first and make sure I have everything before I go any further in any level on FF, too many hours put in to miss things and to go back and put in excessive hours because I missed something....I couldn't imagine that[pic]

it was the first rpg i ever played so i had no idea about the rules and parameters...one of these days ima play through it again

Hell yeah, one of my favourite intro stages of all time.

It's paced well and if you aren't familiar with RPG's, this is a good start. Dope characters, dope world, ahead of it's time and an overall classic game.

If you love 13, you'll love 7 and hate 13.

FF3 to me is the best one in the series. But FFVII is !!ing great I wouldn't even be upset if they did a HD remake were they actually had hands instead of nubbs [pic] I would buy it but its not gonna happen
