Is FFVII really that good?

Yes. Believe the hype. My favorite FF. Story is one of the dopest stories ever written. Make sure you use a walkthrough and get Yuffie (her dialogue is hilarious). Though im willing to admit 6 is better. best advice i could give u for this series is play FF's 4-8 (emulator 4-6 and psn 7,8) in any order u want then play 9 (because you cant fully enjoy it without playing the previous ones) and 10.

Looking through the "Greatest Games of All Time" thread I saw a lot of people name drop Final Fantasy VII, and I had a question, how good was Final Fantasy VII?

I've never played VII, the only one I've played was Final Fantasy XIII (mind you it has only been about a month since I bought it and began playing it) and personally, I love it, great game in my opinion.

I'm almost certain I'm going to get a number of [pic]'s, but it's just a question I had and I hope that someone could give a legit answer/reason...

I feel that FFVIII is extremely underrated. Never played FFVII

Bruh FF7 came out for PC already and any PC can run it. You could find it online (illegally) and download it for yourself to see.

Keep in mind that the game did not age well at all, the game was G.O.A.T in my memories and in my memories it will stay

8 was good. It just had flawed mechanics and the story gets pretty outrageous. The battle system tried to include more interaction but the way magic is done makes its counter productive to use magic. The secondary characters really are too secondary. And it main story has a bit too many wholes. I enjoyed beating it buy I won't ever touch it again. Definitely my least fav of the ps1 Gen ffs.

the magic system had you "draw" magic out of your enemies instead of using magic points. so magic was basically an item with its own inventory. also in 8 if u want any good items or powerful magic you had to play triple triad(mini game card game). which is a hit or miss with some fans, i enjoyed triple triad (the music is funk) but some of my friends didnt. the villain in this one isnt even around and as menacing as other villains of the series. my least fav of ps1 and prob out of all ff4-10, still an amazing game though.

FFVII is special to me cause as a youngin it was the first time i'd ever traded in games to get a game lol.

Its great, good use of the graphics engine they made, great battles, feels good to build levels/materia and chocobo and all that. The storyline was pretty dope(one of the most talked about game storylines of all time) and the !!ing music was amazing...The music in that game was just epic

Best FF? Nah my fave was definitely 6....I always wanted a full fledge 6 remake with HD graphics and stuff cause I felt like the story/world in 6 was so big...so vast...so many characters who had wonderful backstories an such....6 was dope cause you really felt like people in the world had their own lives, their own motives, and their own reasons for needing to fight to live on.

FFVII is a great RPG though...After nailing 6 and completely murking the competition at the time I always felt like 7 was kinda like their way of showing they didnt fluke with part 6.
