The same reason people in the entertainment business hates Chris Brown. They dont condone what he did. Those things I listed about NFL players breaking the law, driving drunk, beating women, beating there wives, being dead beat dads etc I'm not cool with any of that !!. I dont care how many TDs you score if you beat women I dont want !! to do with you. I know its not all NFL players but its enough to make me not watch. Every week its some NFL player getting arrested driving drunk or doing something !!ed up that causes them to be bailed outta jail. This week its Dez Bryant next week its gonna be somebody else.

[pic] I just read through this thread and I cant believe people are saying they dont !! with the NFL because of what players do off the field. Athletes in every sport have run ins with the law and im sure the % of players that get in trouble in the nfl is rather compared to the sheer amount of platers. Somebody also said something about excessive celebrating in the nfl but have you seen a soccer game they go way over the top with their celebrations so i dont understand your point there either

nicca what in the fock are you talkin bout? Chris Brown is one person. You talkin bout you quit watching the NFL entirely because of what a couple players did off the field. [pic]

They are just 1 player. There are 52 other players on the team, yet you decide not to watch the team based on what one person did in their free time. That is some soft[..] !!. [pic]

You'd be surprised how many fans the NFL is losing because of the bad media the players get from off the field incidents. And you'd be even more surprised at how many NFL players themselves are sick of the over excessive celebrating there's a reason they get fined and penalised for it.

Wait I thought this past year the NFL made more money and did better ratings then they have the year as well as the year before that? How are they losing fans when its more popular then its ever been? And how do you know nfl players are sick of "excessive" celebrations and seeing how they get flagged for it I dont see it nearly as much as years passed

We have already went over why business is booming, cause there is nothing but !!ing adverts and we have also went over that being the only reason they are there. Im sure the premiership and other leagues would be booming atleast twice as much if they could ram over 30 minutes of commercials down our throats each game

Football, whether it is professional or collegiate, is becoming an American passion. Every Thursday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, people across the country turn on their television sets to watch their favorite team hit the gridiron.

Today, however, this game we have all come to know and love is being interrupted by an endless stream of advertising that honestly costs more than some players on the field get paid. It was reported that for the Super Bowl between the Colts and Saints in February, 2010; if a company wanted just 30 seconds of air time, that company would have to dish out at least $2.5 million.

And, believe it or not folks, that price has gone down. In 2009, the price of airing an average length commercial during the Super Bowl was about $3 million.

But that was just during the Super Bowl, and it is almost; and I use the word lightly, understandable since that is when companies usually try to throw out their best.

Think about it though. According to recent reports, during an NFL game, there is only about fifteen or so minutes of actual playing time. The rest is devoted to commercials for other shows that may appear on that network; car companies showing off current and future models; various personal hygiene products, and really anything else you can think of.

And even when the graphics come up showing you some statistics for a particular team or player, some company's name is across the top, sponsoring that few second long graphic.

And, in my opinion, it is taking away from the game.

Big time.

I sat down to watch a college football game not too long ago, and honestly, I really lost interest. The ball was kicked off, the network goes to a commercial; they come back, a team goes through their first series with the ball, and the network goes to another commercial.

God forbid they have to review a call, or there is a turnover.

Then there is the NFL. Sometimes I feel like I am watching commercials with football in between.

So many Americans dedicate so much time to this game, whether it is trying wrack up fantasy points, or simply because they love it. So why can they not see more of what they love?

Now, before you business people out there start freaking out; I realize that these advertisements can pull in some big bucks. But honestly, when I have to see the same Geico, or Michelin commercial no less than ten times during a game, that does not make me want to buy their products.

It makes me want to break something.

So really, instead of adding another few games onto the season like they are thinking of doing; why not just take a few commercials out? Why not ease up on some of the endless repetition?

But I used the word passion in the title for a reason. Americans are passionate about the sport, and therefore they put up with the constant commercial interruptions.

So as long as we put up with it, networks will make their money; companies will show off their products; and in the end we will get to see the game we all love.

Football.

So there is 15 minutes of action in a 3 hour broadcast? only in America (and thank !! for that). If only Ireland was bigger(over 300 million people kinda big) so our countries 2 main sports could get the recognition American football does worldwide(everyone outside the US knows American football exists its just nobody likes it, people would love hurling)

All I know is NFL attendance numbers are dropping as well as its popularity. More fans are watching college football way more. One of the reason its losing its popularity is that TEAMS ARE SORRY nobody going to watch Jacksonville. The lower tier teams cant give away tickets. Whats one of the biggest way teams make money TICKET SALES.

Now lets talk about there product the players more NFL players are being arrested and when this happens teams lose money. How? Companies dont want to sponsor teams where players are in the headlines for getting arrested ALL the !!ing time. You know how many sponsors the Eagles lost when they signed Vick? You know how many companies wanted to sponsor the Jets when Tebow came to town? Image mother!!ers. Yall can say what yall want to but I work with kids in a group home and there is no way I would want a kid to be like anybody who beats his wife, drives drunk, do drugs, carry guns, k!ll people, or any of the !! the dudes are constantly in the paper about.

And I've said it before YG I know its not every player in the NFL but its enough players getting arrested to make me NOT watch.

How do you manage to contradict yourself that quickly? [pic]

And why do you care that he doesn't watch the NFL? Does it have an impact on your ability to enjoy 3hrs of commercials with supposedly 15min of actual playtime? If the man doesn't like it because of the actions of the players, the very people that represent the sport itself, then he doesn't like it. Case closed.

And again still more action then soccer. I'd rather have commercials then guys just kicking the ball back and forth for 90% of the game plus act like they been gutted with a shotgun everytime there touched.

Are you that stupid that you can't pick up context? The players he (you [pic] ) is talking about all play for different teams. This (you [pic] ) soft[..] nicca said he stopped watchin games because of what one player on that particular team did. Softest !! ever. [pic]

Im with you on the diving and its became far to much like a non contact sport(nearly every tackle is a foul lately).

This is a sport, these play for no money and they put more heart in than any sportsmen. At 1:12 he throws the hurl at him to try stop him scoring and its only a yellow card

This sport mixes Aussie rules and Irelands gaelic football(its between Ireland and Austalia obviously), absolute madness they want it banned there is that much fighting and dirty tackles
