Blizzard’s Battle.net system hacked and personal info WAS stolen

A security update posted on Blizzard’s official site warns users that the Battle.net system has been subject to “unauthorized and illegal access”. Email addresses for global users are known to have been accessed, as are answers to ‘personal security questions’ for players on North American servers.

Blizzard claims that this information alone is not enough for the hackers to gain access to Battle.net accounts. At the present time, the company is also claiming that there’s no evidence of financial information, billing details or real names being accessed.

“Cryptographically scrambled” versions of Battle.net passwords were taken, again from North American servers. Those affected (that’d be anyone who uses Battle.net in North America, Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia, pretty much) are urged to change their passwords and personal security questions as soon as possible.

Mobile authenticator users are also being prompted to “update their authenticator software”.

I was just !!ing around, I didn't really slight Sony in any way. It's like anyone saying "Knicks Lost" or "Nas Lost" for random reasons except I said Sony won.

I was in a guild (Scarlet republic, Stormreaver (us)) with 900+ members and i was damn near revered status, very cool guild we pretty much ran World PvP in the realm

Today i log on to see i was no longer a member, come to find out our guild leader was hacked, and the guild disbanded...

I wasnt super serious when I typed that but diablo 3 was a huge blunder even though it managed to generate some dosh. And wow numbers are dropping with every expansion.

Actually its went up every Expansion.

Pretty much. 12 Million ish. Now they are down to 9.1 million. They will get well over 10 million active subscriptions once MOP drops again.

10 + million people playin WoW
10 Million Diablow 3 copies sold
Starcraft 2 expansion droppin in the Fall.

Over 20+ million ppl playin their games.

Workin on their New MMO too. Blizzard aint playin.
